Cinco de Mayo

May 5, 2007 by Emily 3 Comments

Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone. Americans are celebrating Cinco de Mayo today, from experience I recall it to be a very festive time, especially in Los Angeles, California. The music, the food!!! The colorful costumes they where when they perform their dances, it’s very exciting to watch, remindes me of Guatemala actually, since its similar but at the same time it’s not. Guatemala’s independence day is Sept 16, and they have some spectacular things going on in Guatemala. In Amercia though Cinco de Mayo seems to be recognized more, but hey if you are ever in California on Cinco de Mayo then you should check it out downtown, lots of festivities.

I got some good feedback on the movie Night Listener, I agree with the marjority it was a good movie. Last night I watched yet again another horror type movie, very interesting movie, I’m really annoyed with subtitled movies because it gets in the way lol, but I watched this Japanese movie called Rinne (Reincarnation) I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it but as the movie went on I did, and I’m glad I watched it. It’s about a Japanese actress that begins having strange visions and experiences after landing a role in a horror film about a real-life murder spree that took place over forty years ago. Japanese are very good at making horror films I have to say. Anyone see it?

I finished up 3 fanlistings, please join if you are a fan Destiny the concept and idea, next would be Dr. Julius Hibbert the doctor from The Simpsons tv show, and Webcams so if you join portals and have a cam image on your site then please join. I also put up a topsites site at pixelfx.org, so please join the Pixelfx Topsites.

When I did my update at my collective, a girl left me a comment about another girl I just added as a hostee, turns out she had stolen stuff from this other girl and she showedme proof *shakes my head* that terrible, so immediately I went and closed her acct and left her a notice to contact me, I don’t know why she just couldn’t give the girl credit, isn’t that what it’s all about, people forget, what is wrong with you all. I know we all slip now and then to get info as your doing something, but when it’s all the time something is wrong. For example I try my hardest to include a credits page on all my fanlistings because sometimes some people want to know where some things are found not to mention it’s respectful towards the people brushes, textures etc that we use on layouts, those that don’t put it anywhere not even on thier fanlisting collective should be ashame, but thats them and not me, and I’m happy that I do. Enough of that rant, I think I’ll go and try to make a few new buttons and work on my other project. Have a great weekend!

That looks really festive! I have never heard about the Cinci de Mayo before but the pictures I find are awesome.

ah the holiday or festival seems very entertaining. Ach, I can’t seem to type today! hehe

Yes, I agree with you! Japs makes horror so scary that it’s rediculous sometimes! However the american adaptations aren’t as scary… it’s only scary because of the screaming but other than that, I don’t think they’re quite that scarry. I find Korean, Japs, and Chinese horrors are a little more scary because a lot of the times it’s about supernatural entities/events or it has some twisted minded thoughts in there.

      Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
I’m definitely going to be celebrating the holiday by partying it up.. well hopefully.. my mother my keep me from doing anything.. she’s not in a good mood.

ANYWAYS. I hate when people steal other peoples work. Its rude and unfair.. especially since there are so many tutorials out there to help people create there own things and such.
