Texting While Driving

August 25, 2009 by Emily 3 Comments

This morning as we sipped some coffee, we were watching the morning news, and they were talking about texting while driving and how dangerous it can be, I completely agree with that. They provided a commercial that is being shown on youtube at this time, about 4 girls driving down a road, the driver texting, well you can imagine the rest, but watch the video below so you can see what happens. It’s so very sad. Keep in mind girls are not the only ones texting and doing other things such as driving and walking down the street. Warning: It is a graphic video.

Did you notice in the video the little girl asking for her parents to wake up, that is sad, but what’s even sadder is the shot they move to when you see the baby infant lying there with his eyes not moving. I believe he is suppose to be dead. Gosh the whole video just brought tears to my eyes. This video was filmed in Wales, a very good video. I think America should air something similar out here. It sends a strong message, I just hope people actually pay attention to it and learn from it.

On to something lighter, Red Sox won last night yay 12-8 against the White Sox, they play tonight again. Yes indeed I plan on watching I have been working hard on my directory List-Me.Com I am still looking for staff, but meanwhile I am doing the work with the help of 3 other staff members. So yesterday, no wait not yesterday on Sunday, we did a bit of shopping, Halloween is getting closer so we’re picking up some cute Halloween decorations here and there. We got this sign that says “Beware of Zombies” lol, so I tell William, “Hey let’s dress up as Zombies for Halloween”, he’s like “umm ok” lol. I don’t know if it’ll happen but if it does, you can be sure I’ll post pictures hehe. I love the holidays, while in England I didn’t really get to experience Halloween, which was a bummer, but I got use to it. I am here now so I’m so very much going to experiencing all the holidays. I should get back to doing what I was doing earlier. Have a great day everyone and watch the video!

I agree with you 100% you should never drive and use the phone in any type of way. If you don’t care about your self that’s one thing but you are not the only person on the road. When people do that they are just being selfish

I did hear about that, but I thought it was for the USA. But I do think they should have something like that here anyway. That’s what scares me about driving and one of the reasons I don’t have a drivers licence. I’m scared that some kid, like the one in the video, will be driving down the road, texting, talking on the phone, and just plain not paying attention. Even worse is when they’ve been drinking..I sure don’t want to end up like the girls in that video..

The part with the baby made me cry… That was sad..

It’s a good PSA. I definitely heard the sounds of a smashed cantaloupe and a broken celery stalk during their crash sequence. So the foley artists did their part. It’s a little overblown but I think they were trying for that. Meh. Hopefully it keeps some teenagers from crashing.
