This year pretty much flew by pretty quick. I think everyone is looking forward to 2021, I know I am. However I think most of it will be very similar to how it is now. You can’t expect change overnight, that is just not realistic.
We had snowfall the day before Halloween, that is the first for me here in MA! We usually don’t get it until like February, but this was very unexpected, does this mean winter will be filled with a lot of snow? This is possible.
Which leads me into my next thought. The stray cats we feed, I know people say don’t feed them or they will keep coming around. Well, hello that is the whole purpose I feed them, so they can come around and get something to eat. I pretty much consider them my cats, it just a matter of time before they will let me get close enough to pet and eventually pick them up. I really want to so much.
This is Lilo, I named him Lilo, because the first time I saw him was the 2nd hear we were living here, and I saw him (I believe it is a boy, not 100%) in the yard, and I got scared because my Lily looks so much like him, I thought she got out. My inside cats are not outside cats, so you can imagine how scared I got, until I got a good look and realized it is not Lily, so then Lilo was created.
As you can see she is very similar to Lilo. I’m glad it wasn’t her, because she has never been outside, and I was worried she would get lost, and that would break my heart.
Then we have sweet Sammy, she is a light medium long ginger. She came pretty young definitely under a year old.
Sammy, I believe started coming around in 2019 I was pretty sure, but from the photos looks like early 2020, even though I didn’t start photographing him until I notice he came around a lot, and became more of a regular visitor. I also noticed how young and small he was, in the first photo of April 19, 2020, to now he has changed a lot. I think I feed the both enough, although I think it is possible they are being fed elsewhere as well. I just want them both to be part of this family.
Then there are 2 other strays I see now and then, I have not named them as I have only seen them walk though a few times and don’t really stop, and wait for me to feed them. On occasion if Lilo or Sammy don’t finish eating, one will happen along and happily finish eating the food.
The first pic above is a beautiful ginger short hair that comes through sometimes, very pretty kitty. Then there is the 2nd picture of a gray cat that comes around lately with the cat in the last picture, this whole year I have seen them around together. The 3rd picture is the very first at I ever saw in our yard, he is a long black haired at, he looks like he had an eye removed at some point, it was hard to tell sometimes. Here is a little video I captured of him.
Then the last cat, that looks like a calico, she looks pregnant in that photo, I am not 100% sure she could just be a chubby cat, but the time I saw her she kind of looked pregnant. I see her and the gray one, once in a while. As you can see she got lucky and was able to eat some food I left out.
This is the first cat I ever saw, but I don’t see him anymore. I hope he is doing good. I do miss seeing him. He was a little bit of a bully and scared the other cats off, but I still had love for him, and I do miss him.
This whole post went into mainly the cats around my house. Well I think I will leave it there. I am a big animal lover, and always trying to help where I can. And there are so many homeless cats & dogs, and so many put down when they don’t need to be. It could be avoided if animals are spayed and neutered, so the cycle ends with them. There is so much cruelty to animals out there it is very sad & heartbreaking.
