Wow, I am shocked that I did not notice that my website was down since Nov 2, 2022, due to Jetpack, well I updated Jetpack and it is working again. I am so glad WordPress has a Recovery Mode, which they send a link to when something goes wrong with WordPress, and this helped me out, I am so glad for that. As usual, I have no excuse not to come and update. I update my planner every day, so I should do similar to my blog. This is the only reason I discovered my website was down. The hosting is fine, the domain name is fine, and it was the Jetpack plugin.
Apart from that almost terrible incident, things have been going along fine. From my past posts, Momo has been coming around regularly to have a meal or two. I still wish I could swoop him up and bring him in. He has the cutest little meow. He showed up last night at about 11:45 PM, William was asleep and I wasn’t going to unarm the alarm to feed the cat, he prefers I don’t, so I don’t. But low and behold that sweet cat showed up in the morning. I quickly noticed him and I ran off to get dressed and run out to feed him, as it was going to rain, and the winds were going to be whipping around.
I fed him, and he ate some then walked away from the plate as if he didn’t like it. He has never done this before. Has he become spoiled? Hmm not sure. Ok well I waited, but he wouldn’t eat it, and waited and looked up at the window like asking me for something else, I was a bit put off, but I also thought maybe I left the food out on the counter too long and it started going off, that is a possibility, cats have a good sense of smell.
I went out, took him food that I had just opened up, and just gave him the canned food, and he nibble on it, and again didn’t want it. I am confused but also knew he was hungry. So I grabbed one of Daisy’s foods a Tuna Fancy Feast and some leftovers that she hadn’t eaten earlier, mixed it up, added a little dry food, and he ate most of it but left some. Again, I am confused, I hope he is not feeling ill, but now I am going to be concerned because he always has a good appetite, a big appetite. Granted he did eat a little from both previous servings so it makes sense he didn’t finish it. I threw the rest on the grass because the squirrels, opossums, or groundhogs come around to eat it. Anything leftover goes out into the yard, and it will be eaten.
I have yet to see Lilo and Sammy, I know sometimes they don’t come out because it is raining. I keep an eye on the camera to see if I see them so that I can give them food. I don’t like to put food out when they are not near to eat it, that way it is fresher. I get a lot of false alarms of movement because of the leaves kicking up. I still check from time to time.
We spend Thanksgiving at my sister-in-law’s house, it was nice, but the food felt like I had a brick in my stomach. I am not used to eating reg bread, mashed potatoes, or stuffing, so I wasn’t feeling too good for a day or two. Don’t get me wrong, that all tasted wonderful, but it is not something we eat regularly, so we felt the difference, we eat a lot of low-carb, no-sugar meals. But it was really nice, and William enjoyed the time, I had to nudge him to get going because I kept an eye on the cameras at the house via my phone, and noticed the cats coming around looking for food. Broke my heart that I missed them but was excited when I saw them the following day ready to eat.
I notice whether they are the 3 feral outside cats (Sammy, Lilo, and Momo) or the girls inside (Daisy and Lily) my life is kind of revolving around them a lot. I can’t help it, I love them all. I wouldn’t change it for anything, well except one thing, that is God. But he is a big part of my life, and always comes first.
During the time at the in-laws, we played Yahtzee, I had never played it before, so William and I, played a few games the night before so I could understand how it is played. I remember when the kids were younger, just a few years, they loved playing Yahtzee, they are teens now, and have their own things going on, I see them on their phones a lot, but that is the youth now. Overall, it was a very nice time.
As for Christmas, I just read that we are going to his aunt’s house, he hasn’t told me, but he probably assumed I saw it. Funny he didn’t mention it. We usually go there, as it’s bigger and closer for the older relatives since we are considered the younger ones lol. I’m sure it will be nice as well.
It is almost 4 pm, time to close this blog, oh we are making homemade spaghetti tonight, this is always fun to do, a little time-consuming but fun, and the end results are always delicious, and low-carb too. I hope you all have a great week, and see you in the next post.
God Bless
Emily
