We always get humid weather here, most of Summer is humid, sad to say, but at least it is Summer. We take advantage of the days that are nice enough to sit out on the deck. Today we have the sun coming in and out. But it is about 82 degrees, and the low is expected to be 70 degrees, which is quite warm, which makes me concerned for my ferals outside. They are smart though, they find a cool place and stay there most of the day, and begin to come out when it gets cooler. Or when they are getting really hungry, I wouldn’t say starving, because I feed them daily.
Today, at about 10 am, my husband fed Sammy, I am glad he came around because he looked a bit skinny and needs to put my fat on his body, he also came around yesterday late afternoon. That was an interesting event. I say this because he would always go under the deck to cool off or wait for me to take his food out. And yesterday, Pepper was under there, and he was at the entrance at the backyard side. He is notorious for bullying the cats, so naturally, I thought he was going to attack Pepper. I rushed outside to let him know I am there and will bring him food. I did, then I went onto the deck, and called Pepper out, so she can hang with me on the deck and I took my time petting her. I am happy there was no altercation between them.
Then Momo came, he seemed to want to eat, so I put out some food for him and Pepper. Momo didn’t finish his food. I think the humidity makes them lose their appetite, I am not sure. But at least he ate something. I brought in the leftover, as it was still fresh. I save it for him for later. He likes his food a little drier, if it is too pasty he won’t eat it. Lilo didn’t show up yesterday, I am sad about that. I hope he had a nice cool place to be, and food to eat. Maybe I will see him today. I will be needing to go out and put ice in their bowls. I know that they will drink warm water if they have to, but I guess I do it because it makes me feel better knowing their water is fresh with ice.
I just fed Momo, he ate everything. As I walked away, I didn’t notice Lilo. However, he is laying on the grass in the shade, and I am wondering if he is hungry. I am assuming he is because he was walking towards me when I walked out with food for Momo. Perhaps he thought it was for him. I better go and give him some, whether he eats or not. He was hungry, and he ate about 95% of it. I had laundry to do, so I did not return to post the weigh-in results for this week. I will at the end of this post.
I had to do as I mentioned laundry, then feed the cats, and more laundry, just a bunch of house stuff. It is after dinner, dishes are in the dishwasher (I was them in the dishwasher on Sundays, other than that I hand wash them). Dinner was good, we had grilled drumsticks, some baby potatoes, and green beans. Delicious I have to add. The other black cat showed up. He ate some food I put out for Momo, as Momo didn’t want it for whatever reason. I am okay with that since he wasn’t going to eat it. I am glad the other black cat did. I still need a name for him/her. Momo is sitting under the chair in the yard. I need to go and try to see if he will eat. I have to try. The other black cat is gone, so he won’t eat it. My husband said it looks like he is napping, so I am going to wait. Meanwhile on with the weigh-in.
I cannot lie, I am disappointed in this week’s weigh-in. I thought I was going to get a better result. I lost 0.1, which is almost nothing. However, I didn’t gain, so that is good. I thought this week was good. My calorie intake max is 1440, and I have pretty much kept it under 1200, so I don’t know what is going on. Am I entering the wrong choice for certain foods? It upsets me, sure. But it is not going to discourage me from continuing forward. I achieved my 1st goal, and I am working on my 2nd. I weighed in @ 269.7 lbs. I’ve had a long day. I think this is all for now. Until next time. Have a great week, and don’t forget.
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
