It has actually been longer than a minute lol. But you know how that goes. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Eve. We stayed at home, where we are happy with each other and our furbabies. We had an appointment for someone to come and install a water filtration unit, and it was cancelled due to snow, but that snow was nothing like what we had overnight. We seriously had from 12 to 18 inches of snow. We cleared the driveway this morning. Last night, my outside semi-feral furbaby, Lilo, the tortie girl. Decided she needed to go potty, and when she jumped down, she didn't realize how deep the snow was. She didn't return. I really wish she had returned. I know she could have made the jump up to her house. So she stayed under the deck, and this morning, she was gone. Nowhere to be found. I am worried sick. The snow is Continue Reading
Momo Is Recovering
Momo, the feral cat with the injured eye, is in my basement in a dog crate. He is recovering from his surgery, he was successfully neutered, and they gave him a shot that lasts for 2 weeks to heal his eye. Backstory on the eye, when he was a few months younger, I noticed a slash under his eye, not sure if it was from a cat fight or hurt himself some other way, or God forbid, it was a human. I hadn't even begun to get things to do a TNR, so yes time had passed. Fast forward to vet appointment day. They asked if I could keep him for at least a week to see if his eye was improving. He wasn't eating or drinking since the day I trapped him, which was Aug 8, 2022, after 5:30 pm, up until last night at about 5:30 am. That was concerning me. He loves wet food, I left him food twice, the first day he was recovering from anesthesia, and then on Continue Reading
15 Years Later, We Remember
This will be short. Prayers go to family and friends affected by this terrible tragedy. I honestly feel we were all affected in some way. I can still remember waking to the news, it feels like yesterday, but here we are 15 years later, and still fresh in many of our minds. We will never forget! Continue Reading
Remember Those That Served – Thank you!
Thank you so very much! To each and every person , man or woman, who has served, is serving and will serve to protect us. Thank you so much for putting your life before ours, for keeping us safe, keeping the children of the future safe. I don't think it is ever possible to tell you enough thank you's. So many people do not realise what you all have done to keep us safe. Many will learn and respect you in time. I'd like to thank my two brothers, Eric and Omar, who served in the Air Force and Navy, respectively, thank you for serving. I love and miss you guys. I think the younger generations are beginning to understand more and more what these men and women have done for us all. If you are out and about and see a veteran, thank them, don't wait for Veterans day to thank them. If it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be Continue Reading
Happy Earth Day 2013
So it's here it again, Happy Earth Day everyone. What do you plan to do today to honor Mother Earth? Well I won't be driving for one, as for meats, not sure, we'll see what is for dinner hehe. Use less water, so many things everyone can do, it doesn't take much! So let me give you a few from a couple of websites. Over at EarthDay.Org they are putting together a huge mosaic of anyone who wants to get involved, all you have to do is, upload a photo of yourself with a sign saying 'The Face of Climate Change', and it will be added to the mosaic, pretty simple I think. I look like a hot mess so I may not do it, then again maybe I will hehe. How about you? Check out the very short video on this :) Then at Rustle the Leaf, they have a nice list of 10 things you can do to this Earth Day and everyday, I think it's a pretty good list, Continue Reading
