Weigh-in #23 – Doing good!

September 20, 2014 by Emily Leave a Comment

Yesterday, we went to William's family house in Boston for a triple birthday party, so this was a test of not eating too much and being picky about what I was going to have. Since they ordered pizza and a cold cuts tray to make sandwiches, I had to estimate. I did not add mayonnaise as it was too high in calories, but I did add mustard which was zero. About 2 slices of two different types of sandwich meats, and a slice of cheese (Swiss), and finally 2-4 tablespoons of coleslaw. I had a cup of coffee black with some sweet n’ low, and later a decaf Diet Coke. I think I did okay, breakfast was at Dunkin Donuts, so I know how many calories I had, as it is not the first time I’ve had their awesome turkey bacon breakfast croissants, so good!!! 390 calories though, and an iced coffee, slim milk, and sweet n’ low. So not bad, and for dinner, a Continue Reading

I Hate Being Hungry!

January 21, 2014 by Emily Leave a Comment

I think the worst part of a diet, is not the exercise, well I guess that is too lol but it’s adjusting to not eating, what you normally were eating, or should I say the portion size. The first few weeks, you go hungry. I hate that! I can’t even be near the kitchen, because I get hungry haha. I try to drink water when I get hungry, it helps fill me up. I’m trying to stay under 1,660 (corrected) calories a day, some may think that is a lot, but I think for myself it’s ideal at this time, perhaps later it will change. But as mentioned, it’s just those moments when I feel the hunger pangs. I can’t wait until I get passed that phase. As for exercise, it’s difficult for me, as my knees are bad. I injured one over 5 years ago, and have not been able to have a doctor look at it. It’s bad enough I just got a bill, that was not fully covered, Continue Reading

Happy Birthday Catherine

Last night we had a family dinner, Williams family. We all met up at a great restaurant. It was to celebrate Williams moms 60th birthday, woo. There were a few times during dinner, the restaurant go so loud I couldn't hear people at our own table talking lol. There were about 11 of us. It was nice, we sand Happy Birthday to her, we got her a nice warm New Englands Patriot zipped up sweater, really nice one too, she absolutely loved it. She really doesn't look 60 she looks more like early to mid 50's. She is such a super nice lady, and happy to call her almost my mother in law hehe. From what I heard, now that she is at 60, she gets a free cup of coffee free at Dunkin Donuts for life, that is pretty awesome. Well I stopped blogging, and did a quick search, according to this forum thread, seniors (55 and over) get a free cup every Continue Reading

Sunday Funday or Is It?

September 22, 2013 by Emily Leave a Comment

Sunday Funday

At first no it wasn't. You get up, you cannot just be lazy all day. Things have to get done, laundry has to be done, dishes have to be washed, dusting and vacuuming. Okay so not so much funday, at least not all of it. Especially laundry, not for the mere fact it needs to be done, but your damn neighbors are so damn rude. You go to do your laundry, we happen to live in a community where we share the laundry facilities, which is okay, because it's not a huge laundry facility. Okay, you wait and watch someone remove stuff from the Industrial Washers, they know you are standing there. Then the persons spouse walks in with another basket of laundry to do. Now I am not saying it's wrong, I'm all for that, but what pisses me off is that they see you standing there, probably waiting for the damn washer, and they can't acknowledge you and tell Continue Reading

Are You Superstitious? Happy Friday the 13th!

Friday the 13th

I am, and am not superstitious. With some things I am, I do believe in ghosts, not to sure about the black cat and ladder bit, but I am still cautious, don't hurt to be, right? The day is almost over, it's 6:32 pm as I write this. The day has been okay, I was home all day, as that seems to be my itinerary for quite a while, it's a long story, I won't bore. Nothing really bad has happened today, I mean in the past month, yes, I caught a bad virus and was hospitalised, yup that bad. I am better now, finished up my medication, still need to do a follow up visit, but waiting on an insurance package to arrive, and I really wish it would. Okay maybe that is the bad thing that happened, kind of, it's been on going all week *sigh*. Today I cancelled my Glossybox subscription, in retrospect, I feel that I haven't really benefited from that Continue Reading
