We are having terrible weather on this Mother's Day, however, that is not taking away from it being Mother's Day. I choose to stay home today, as my honey took his mother to visit his Grandmother. She's been dealing with some heavy stuff these days with the nursing home case, so we have tried our best to support her and keep her company. At her age it must be scary to have to deal with things alone. We were able to find a good nursing home abuse attorney that comes well recommended. They're a friend of a friend, and they're taking good care of us. The old lady doesn't always know exactly what's going on but we try our best to tell her she doesn't need to worry about things too much, and we'll let her know when her input is needed. She already suffered enough, I can't imagine dealing with someone being abusive while being old and alone in Continue Reading
Bad Weather, Renovations, Where Is Spring?
The weather has really been overwhelming. I know in my last post, I posted about a diet, that we just couldn't start, due to recent events. Seriously, who has time? Honestly, losing weight was the furthest thing on my mind. Some would say, you have to make time. Well, my answer to that is, you are not me, do what's good for you, and I will do the same! Anywho, this all takes a toll. The bathroom that is being renovated, well it is done, it just needs a paint job, and a couple of things here and there before but is 100% done. I have to say, I am happy to kind of have the house back. Next, on the agenda is tackling my craft room. That is going to be fun. It's not really just a craft room. It's a hobby room in which I do crafts, take haul pictures, record youtube videos, have my nail polishes, and so forth. A mish-mash of Continue Reading
Damages, Renovation, Broken Computer, Will This Ever End?
I don't even know where to start. I guess at the beginning. Well, we have been living here for just about a year now. We love our house! It is a small house, we don't have kids so it suits us for now. In the future sometime we may possibly move again. Okay so moving on to what is going on. First, it is the weather we had recently with extremely high winds, so windy that a lot of trees have fallen around town, including in our yard. We were home at the time this happened it must have been around 7 pm, I was in my hobby room as I usually am about that hour, and I hear this loud crash. I thought to myself, did a car just run into something outside, because I didn't feel the house shake or anything, so a car running into the house was not possible. But still the sound was so loud, and my honey usually plays a little ps4 if he isn't downstairs Continue Reading
Happy Valentine’s Day
Oh just a quick hello to say Happy Valentine's Day. We are having a lovely day. We had a nice dinner together, gave each other a few things. Actually, I had been giving my honey a little goody each day until today. I thought it was a lot of fun to do. And he had something to look forward to it every day, I think he really enjoyed it. Today I didn't give him one, as we are spending our real "Valentine's Day" on Friday or Saturday because he works like everyone else lol. But our girls did give him something and a card, of course, I helped out :) He laughed but love it. I had been decorating the house since before February started, and I didn't get everything done I wanted, oh well. I guess it will have to wait until next year. Something to look forward to, but I am happy with the way it has gone, we both have enjoyed it. He went and Continue Reading
Ketogenic Dieting
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures. Almost half of children, and young people, with epilepsy who have tried some form of this diet saw the number of seizures Continue Reading
