G is for Ghost #AtoZChallenge

April 7, 2012 by Emily 4 Comments

I remember when I first seen this film, I cried, I admit it. I did cry. Back then I just loved these type of films, love stories hehe. Now it's a little different, I don't watch as much love stores, unless they are very different, and this one was. A classic that has just recently been made into a musical, Ghost the musical. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I heard this, at least they didn't re-make a film about it. I'm not sure how I would of felt about that, probably the same way I felt about Footloose, I am curious to know what the musical would be like, I don't think I'll be seeing it, but I am going to keep my ears open to see what the public thinks. So anyway, what is this film about for those of you who haven't seen it? Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are a very happy couple and deeply in love. Walking Continue Reading

F is for Footloose (1984) #AtoZChallenge

April 6, 2012 by Emily 8 Comments

I believe the remake of Footloose has come out, I've seen the trailer and I don't like it much. Footloose from 1984 is by far a much better film in my opinion. There are some films you just shouldn't make a remake of and this is one of them. So what is this film about? Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon), a decidedly urban teen who's transplanted to a small Midwestern town where dancing is outlawed. Recruiting his best pal, the quiet Willard (Chris Penn), and his girlfriend (Lori Singer), a clergyman's daughter, Ren starts a revolution by moving to the beat I seen a couple of Kevin Bacon's interviews, and initially he didn't know he was going to have to dance in the film, until he was cast and they told him that he would have to take dance classes, he also said in a separate interview he was mostly concerned with can he pull off being 17, does Continue Reading

E for Everything Must Go #AtoZChallenge

Now and then I do like to watch comedy, but I am so picky when it comes to comedy, there are certain people that can pull it off so well. I remember as a kid growing up, watching the black and white TV show I Love Lucy, now that was some natural comedic talent there. I just loved watching her, and how natural her comedy was, even to this day, once and a while I will come across her show, and will have to site and watch it, even though I have watched it many times before, and will continue so as long as it continues to be aired. Well my A to Z isn't about I Love Lucy tv show or anything she has been in. I brought that up because of the natural talent she had, which is what I find as well in Will Ferrell, I mean all he has to do is look a certain way and it'll make me crack up. Now today's film is a comedy with some drama in it, even Continue Reading

D is for Dawn of the Dead #AtoZChallenge

April 4, 2012 by Emily 1 Comment

I just have to say that I just love to watch horror films, I'm fascinated currently with zombie films, even the cheesy ones. When it comes to the cheesy ones. I watch basically to make fun of the, and how badly they are made, but when they come out with some good ones, then I really look to see how realistic they look. Now I am not zombie expert, I know what I like, and today's A to Z Challenge letter is D for Dawn of the Dead, this is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name. So let me tell you a bit about it. Ana (Sarah Polley), a young nurse finishes her day-shift at the hospital to return home to her husband, they make love and sleep together. Early that morning, after her husband had been killed by next door neighbor, he suddenly comes back to life. She discovers the chaos happening in her neighborhood and escapes from her Continue Reading

C is for Clash of the Titans #AtoZChallenge

April 3, 2012 by Emily 1 Comment

Day 3 of AtoZ Challenge, todays letter is C, for Clash of the Titans, this by far was one of my favorite films of this genre, my 2nd favorite would be Thor, but this definitely lived up to its expectations. I walked away thinking, wow I really liked that film, when I didn't think I would! Ever since 300 came out, I began to like these type of films, and they are just coming out left and right now lol. But this is by far my favorite! So what is Clash of the Titans about?? It's a 2010 remake of the 1981 film of the same name, yeah they did remake it, but much better! The story is based on the Greek myth of Perseus, "The Clash of the Titans" is set in the Greek city of Argos where a war is about to explode between man and the gods. Perseus (Sam Worthington) raised as a fisherman, but is actually a demi-god. Perseus is the son of Zeus Continue Reading
