Happy Leap Year Day!

February 29, 2012 by Emily 2 Comments

Now how often do we get to say that? Every 4 years! Four years ago, I didn't blog on Leap Day, I'm going to make a point that I do, so this is my very first Leap Year day I post on, yay! I'm a member of GetGlue, it's a fun social network website, that I find myself drawn to not only online but on my phone or iPod, I admit it, it does get a little addicting but I can't help it. I enjoy the website so much that I made a fan listing for it, if you are a fan please join, follow this link *clickity*. Anyway, today GetGlue gave all its members (permitting they check into said topic) a Leap Year Day sticker, although it's only an image online, they actually send you it in real life, I think that's why it's attracting so many people, especially collectors of stickers. I wouldn't of said I was a collector of stickers, but now I am, at least of Continue Reading

Shop Local, Shop USA!

February 25, 2012 by Emily 1 Comment

Go USA! America is trying to keep the jobs here, instead of overseas where people are being paid less than they deserve, but you know what? We deserve the jobs as well! The businesses start here, they should stay here. Aren't you sick and tired of seeing small mom and pop shops close, because of corporate american and their big businesses taking out the little ones. How many local shops in your area are shut down because they can't compete. It's rough! If you were to understand Salesforces Definition of Lead Generation, you'd know that, in accordance with that definition, the dearth in enough customer leads was the reason the chain of business shut down. I know, and that is why we need to keep the jobs in America. There is at least one local business in every state closing because they just can't compete. It' just really sad to see this Continue Reading

Bullies? What Are They Thinking?

February 24, 2012 by Emily 1 Comment

I was watching the Today show early this morning, and there was a segment from last month I believe. It discussed the videos that kids were putting on YouTube, in regards to asking if they were pretty or ugly? Youtube does not allow anyone under 13 to join but there were a lot of younger kids on there. No surprise there hey? Well these kids, they put themselves out there not knowing that bullies will come out of the wood work like no tomorrow, only to criticize them. So of course they will be put down, made fun of, etc. I often wonder what are these bullies thinking of? What is in their mind to really put someone through the BS that they put them through. Hasn't there been enough negative media about the results of what bullying can cause, and isn't that enough to just stop!!?? No it doesn't seem like it is, I really don't know what Continue Reading

Gun Toting Dad Responds To Daughter Via Facebook!

February 17, 2012 by Emily 2 Comments

I was watching the Today show this morning, and they had a segment on a father (Tommy Jordan) who replied to his daughter (Hannah's) post on Facebook in a very shocking way 'Facebook Parenting: For the troubled teen!' Wow go Daddy! Apparently the daughter posted some very harsh things on Facebook about the way parents treat her. Thinking that that they wouldn't see it by blocking them. Oh boy was she wrong! The father is computer saavy, works in IT, so naturally he was going to find it, especially because a few months earlier she had done the exact same thing. It's an 8 minute video the father made in reply to his daughters post on facebook, here is the video, see for yourself. The response from teens is astronomical, agreeing with what the father had done, not to mention how many parents agree with what he did. Yeah it's SHOCKING Continue Reading

Doomsday Preppers – Should You Be Worried Too?

February 13, 2012 by Emily 1 Comment

The other day, we didn't have much to watch on TV, so we decided to browse ONdemand (absolutely love this, we're able to catch up with shows we may have missed) and see what shows are out there that we never seen. So one night we were looking through the networks, and stumbled on a TV show called Doomsday Preppers on the National Geographic channel. Who are they? What are they all about. Well long before we stumbled on this TV show, we had stumbled on a few others withe similar topics. I have to say, I didn't really pay much attention, although it did spark an interest in both our minds. We got really curious. As time passed, and we kept seeing more and more. So naturally we would watch this stuff. I don't know for sure if anything will happen, there are people that have their predictions, and so forth. Does it worry me, sure it does. Continue Reading
