Happy Father’s Day

June 15, 2008 by Emily 4 Comments

Another one rolling around already, wow it comes and goes so fast. I seem to always repeat myself when it comes to holidays, I say things like "time is going too fast, someone slow it down" yeah like that lol. But even if they repetitive, it's just so true. So today is Father's Day. I'm in England, and my father is in America. We have a funny relationship, well not funny just not cool I guess. We are not close, I mean I love my father, don't get me wrong. But as an adult and after my mother passed away God rest her soul, he has become distant. When my mom was around, sure he took some interest but not like most dads would. That kind of made me feel sad. So after mom passed away in 2001, you would think it would make us closer? Well it didn't! He somehow managed to find another partner, not marry her but just living with her, and ever Continue Reading

Packathon

June 11, 2008 by Emily 2 Comments

I'll be gone for a few days. I don't know if I'll get a chance to blog or not, but as you can see I blog every few days, even if I don't have much to blog about. Sometimes I just do it because it makes me feel better. Right, anyway for the next few days we'll be doing some heavy packing. I've been doing some off and on the last few days since Al left back to London. Al's returning tonight and we'll we will be packing non stop, as the movers will be here I believe on Friday, unless that was changed. Plus I need to go and see a few places because I don't know if I mentioned Al is renting this flat out, and I'll be returning to America at the end of the year, so it's working out quite well. So wish me luck on that, and with the packathon! On Friday we'll be staying out due to the fact there will be painters in the house. The thing about Continue Reading

I have this song in my head but I can't think of what it is, haha don't you just hate that? Well I have been plurking away at plurk.com and it's been fun, met a few nice people there, if you are a plurker then add me as a friend or just say hello or something, my user name is .. you guessed it "radchick" cause I am just so rad, NOT haha anyway its very similar to Twitter, but a bit better, well I guess it depends on who uses it or what not. It's been interesting I have to say, but can become addictive, since its like a live type thing, so yeah I needed to pull myself away from it and do what I need to do. So what is going on with me at the moment, really I am packing is what I am doing. I'll be moving out since Alice wants to rent this flat out, it seems like a few other people I know are also moving or something similar, so yeah I Continue Reading

Happy Mother’s Day

May 12, 2008 by Emily Leave a Comment

I know it was yesterday but I still wanted to say I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. I spent my night thinking about my mother, as some of you may know or not know I lost her back in 2001 :( Yes it's been so hard with out her, we were so so very close. Anyway I spent it thinking about her, and I also got a chance to call my sister. Jo and her partner Ann have adopted 3 children who have been a very big handful, especially the boy Manual. But I give them so much credit for taking in 3 children and giving then unconditional love as they have. I couldn't call my sister in law it was just too expensive to call, and I wanted to talk to my sister the most anyway. But I am sending her a greeting card so she knows that I am thinking of her on Mother's day, she has a handful as well. I really wanted to wish my niece a happy mother's day but Continue Reading

Days Melt Into Each Other

April 25, 2008 by Emily 4 Comments

Thats what it seems like, the days just melting into each other. I do like how the weather is warming up though. We've had some really beautiful sunny days. I have some pictures I want to share of what I took. The only snow day we had here haha. I was still excited about it, and went out into it. Being from California, we don't get snow like that, unless you are up in Big Bear, and sometimes the High Desert, funny to say it snows in the Desert huh? Lol. But yeah I remember one time while there it snowed and I woke up late at night and I had my niece and nephews visiting for the weekend, and I just had to wake them up to see the snow. Later that day I bundled them up lol, and took them out to play. They loved it, shame I didn't have a camera back then to take pictures of them. But it was such a treat to just see them having fun. Last night Continue Reading
