I believe the remake of Footloose has come out, I've seen the trailer and I don't like it much. Footloose from 1984 is by far a much better film in my opinion. There are some films you just shouldn't make a remake of and this is one of them. So what is this film about? Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon), a decidedly urban teen who's transplanted to a small Midwestern town where dancing is outlawed. Recruiting his best pal, the quiet Willard (Chris Penn), and his girlfriend (Lori Singer), a clergyman's daughter, Ren starts a revolution by moving to the beat I seen a couple of Kevin Bacon's interviews, and initially he didn't know he was going to have to dance in the film, until he was cast and they told him that he would have to take dance classes, he also said in a separate interview he was mostly concerned with can he pull off being 17, does Continue Reading
E for Everything Must Go #AtoZChallenge
Now and then I do like to watch comedy, but I am so picky when it comes to comedy, there are certain people that can pull it off so well. I remember as a kid growing up, watching the black and white TV show I Love Lucy, now that was some natural comedic talent there. I just loved watching her, and how natural her comedy was, even to this day, once and a while I will come across her show, and will have to site and watch it, even though I have watched it many times before, and will continue so as long as it continues to be aired. Well my A to Z isn't about I Love Lucy tv show or anything she has been in. I brought that up because of the natural talent she had, which is what I find as well in Will Ferrell, I mean all he has to do is look a certain way and it'll make me crack up. Now today's film is a comedy with some drama in it, even Continue Reading
D is for Dawn of the Dead #AtoZChallenge
I just have to say that I just love to watch horror films, I'm fascinated currently with zombie films, even the cheesy ones. When it comes to the cheesy ones. I watch basically to make fun of the, and how badly they are made, but when they come out with some good ones, then I really look to see how realistic they look. Now I am not zombie expert, I know what I like, and today's A to Z Challenge letter is D for Dawn of the Dead, this is a remake of the 1978 film of the same name. So let me tell you a bit about it. Ana (Sarah Polley), a young nurse finishes her day-shift at the hospital to return home to her husband, they make love and sleep together. Early that morning, after her husband had been killed by next door neighbor, he suddenly comes back to life. She discovers the chaos happening in her neighborhood and escapes from her Continue Reading
B is for Bad Teacher #AtoZChallenge
Here we go with the A to Z Challenge, what am I picking for today? B is for Bad Teacher, we all need a little comedy in our life, well I found a great film, which is super funny because I just love Cameron Diaz!! Right?? She is not only adorable but funny! She plays it well in this film. So what is this film about? Gold digger Elizabeth Halsey (played by Cameron Diaz) returns to middle school, after her wealthy fiancé breaks it off. She's an awful teacher but wants to save for breast-implant surgery. A new teacher, Scott (played by Justin Timberlake), who turns out to be rich, joins the staff at the school, she perks up right away. She stops showing films and sleeping in class when she is told there's a bonus for the teacher whose class scores highest on the state exam. Her competition for Scott and the bonus is cheery and tightly Continue Reading
A is for All the Boys Love Mandy Lane #AtoZchallenge
Okay so this is the beginning of the A to Z Challenge I spoke about yesterday. I had been debating about what I wanted to do as a theme, as I read around, and see what others were doing, I came back to the same idea, and that was to go with the theme idea, instead of going random. Which is how I was going to start, but then I thought I love films, and would love to share some I have watched, and look forward to watching. I did state, that I would share only the ones that I have seen, but seriously if I have not see a film with the letter U or W or whatever, I will pick one that I want to see, gives us something in the future to want to see, yay! I went with the film called 'All The Boys Love Mandy', sounds like a really sweet film just by the name hey? That's what I thought too, I thought it would turn out to be a chick flick. Well Continue Reading
