Weigh-in #18 – Rough Waters

August 16, 2014 by Emily Leave a Comment

I’m not so happy trying to lose weight on my own. I know is up to me, and I need to be strict about things. Now what I’m about to tell you, may seem like an ‘excuse’ but I am genuinely being honest about it. Growing up in poverty as a child, you appreciated the food you had to eat, as so many are worse off than we were as children. I am right, anyone with common sense should agree. Are they a lot of those? You be the judge. Moving on, as I mentioned, growing up we appreciated our food. Now as an adult, in my current relationship. My fiancé's mother, makes us dinner sometimes once every two weeks, usually Lasagna with some kind of sausage, Italian usually, and also sometimes pasta, VERY VERY delicious but also VERY VERY fattening. I don’t like food to go to waste, and I don’t OVER indulge, but my portions have to be small if I am to Continue Reading

Loving The Snow Fall

I know it's the 4th, but better late than never, and I just wanted to say hello to the new month. So we had snow last night, it's so very typical here in Mass to get snow in February. I absolutely love the snow, and it looked beautiful last night, the trees looked so pretty with snow on them. I will have to add a photo so you can see how pretty they are. I'm charging my phone at the moment, but I will show you them. It reminds me of Christmas, how the trees have just enough snow on the branches and just look so pretty. That snowfall was one storm we had, we are expecting another storm supposedly on Wednesday, but I am looking at the blinds and I see lovely sunlight coming out, so not sure if that storm will hit. I'll check my weather channel when I go down to have lunch. I should go do that, I can finish this later. I am back, and Continue Reading

So Much Goodness #Food #BAD11

October 16, 2011 by Emily Leave a Comment

Here we are again, another Blog Action Day, this years topic is food! Oh my goodness, there are so many deliciously enticing foods. But I think about the topic a little deeper, and why does guilt set in? I don't know, wait I do know. Because I start to think about all those countries with people that wish they would have just one bite of what tonight's dinner would be. Is it normal to feel guilty? I'm going to say yes, I think anyone that is writing a BAD post is going to think about how I just felt. I don't want this to really be a sad blog, so let's keep it a bit light. I have experienced so many good foods like the Tupelo Honey for Sale, Guatemalan food, so delicious, especially the tamales, oh goodness me. so yummy goodness, and the smaller Mexican flavored tamales also so delicious. I spend a few years in England, and got to Continue Reading

April 13, 2011 by Emily Leave a Comment

Ok the title alone is making me hungry. We haven't had dinner yet, but oh my goodness. If you are hungry do not read this, lol jut kidding, yes please read it. It will make you so hungry, you will insist on having a wonderful chicken parmigiana dinner tonight, or tomorrow hehe. I personally have never made a chicken parmigiana but have gone to restaurants that have made some exquisite dishes, including the chicken parmigiana. Since William seems to be the true cook in the house *blushes* yes he is, I'm proud of my guys cooking skills. Speaking of cooking, since I like to get in on the action, in the kitchen as well. I had been looking around for some good recipes and I found an awesome chicken parmigiana recipe, that I think we are going to use. I'm really excited, this website has so many awesome recipes, and the instructions are so Continue Reading

Great Gourmet Olive Oils

April 6, 2011 by Emily Leave a Comment

Eating healthy is important, I wouldn't expect someone to go cold turkey, and go from one extreme to the another, but I think over a period of time, they can gradually eat healthier. Like perhaps going from corn oil when you cook to olive oil, there are so many wonderful gourmet olive oils to be used, like some lovely organic, fruit and vinegar olive oils, so many to try that will make your food taste like and chef made it. Unless you are actual chef hehe. Giangrandi gourement offers some of the best olive oils you could want, with some really great prices too. You can give some to a friend that loves olive oils as well. One of my friends just absolutely love olive oils, she was actually the first person that introduced me to olive oils, so now that is a must in out kitchen. We are going for healthy eating sure, it's a slow process, Continue Reading
