I was under the impression that things were starting to normalize with things re-opening, and then the bomb drops that they may shut it down again in the Fall. What the heck is really going on here? I started writing this post 3 weeks or so ago, and then I got very sick, and anything computer-related stopped instantly. Three weeks ago, I wanted to talk about how you kept yourself busy during the shutdown, and now it looks like it may happen again. Please say it is not going to happen, come on we cannot do this again.
Putting all that aside, I am still curious what everyone did with their time, during the shutdown, heck it may give others something to consider if it happens again, which I pray to the good Lord it does not. What did you do to keep yourself occupied? Were you still working, or did you have a lot of downtimes? My husband was down for about a month, back at the beginning of the pandemic, and has been back at work since. God blessed us. I know a lot of folks are going through rough times even now that things have re-opened, and now with the threat of another shutdown.
During my husbands’ downtime, he worked from home, but when he wasn’t working he always went to his trusty Playstation. I think he enjoyed his time off, it was like a little staycation, although he did was working from home, he wasn’t 100% off, but when he did have time off, he played on his Playstation. I believe it helps him wind down, even now when he comes home from work, I retreat into my hobby room, and allow him his unwinding time, if it is not the Playstation, he may watch a Star Trek show, he loves those.
As for myself, I occupied myself with my online seller work, and sometimes a little gaming online. It is always a treat when you find a good new website to play on. I have played on Facebook, on my mobile phone, even on the Playstation. I think I have different moods for different games. Sometimes I like word games, and other times I will like fighting games, it just depends on what platform I am playing on. On Facebook, I have played a gardening game, which I grew bored of real quick lol, as it got repetitive, and then having to spam friends to join, yeah I didn’t like that. I know there are other games on there, but I stay off of Facebook as much as possible now.
I currently still have a mobile game named “verydice” it’s a rolling dice game on my phone, the only reason I continue to play it is to get enough rolls to cash out and buy an item or two. I just recently cashed out and purchased some silicone molds to make fat bombs (low carb diet) lol. And I also picked up a meat shredder, that kind that looks like bear claws, and a silicone mold as well. Not bad for racking up rolls to gain enough tickets to earn an item or two.
I am trying to earn enough to get some gloves for my husband so that when he goes to burn wood outside he doesn’t burn himself or burn the hair on his arms, you just never know. Sadly since I got sick, that item is out of stock, so I am keeping an eye out for a similar item, so in the meantime I play it now and then, just to have enough in case that item comes back in stock. I have had that app for a few years, and each day I earn freerolls, so it kind of keeps you going. This is what the game looks like, and in the first 2 catalog sections, yeah there is a lot to see, they even have tournaments. If you like playing on your phone check it out.
Apart from Facebook games, which I don’t like much, and mobile games, and of course the PlayStation, I have visited a few web browser-enabled game sites over the years. I have avoided them because they just didn’t seem to cut it, there was always something going wrong from not loading to accidentally reloading on its own to freezing lol. Could it have been my computer, it is possible, but now I have a new computer, I can test that theory, but I can’t be bothered.
Currently, I have been on Plays.org, I love the loading time, and the variety of games they have. They have one of my favorite games UNO the card game. I liked playing that game, but I couldn’t find it online, and I was so happy when I saw it on Plays.org because I didn’t have to ask anyone to play with me, I played against “the machine” lol. I know the best part of playing the actual game is slamming down your card and yelling UNO!! Haha, I still have fun, and it occupies my time when I don’t feel like watching anything on TV or playing anything really difficult. I am currently in a bit of a funk because I am not 100% but I am getting there. So I really didn’t want to play anything difficult, so I found Classic Solitare, I know most computers come with it, but since I am on the site, I just load it up. I actually got frustrated because I usually do pretty good with Solitare but not this time. I always managed to back myself into a corner and have to start a new game. Like last night I restarted a new game at least 4 times. After that I was done being on the computer, I started to get nauseous, I hope that will soon pass.
A few weeks ago when I was up to playing games, I played what seems like a simple game called “Neon Snake ” it is a coin eating game it reminded me of Pacman sort of lol, you basically collect coins, and each time you collect them you grew longer, so you would have to maneuver the snake so you don’t run into yourself or you lose, and yes I did run into myself a few times, but it is pretty challenging and keeps you on your toes. I think the highest score I have been able to get is 40 lol. I kept running into myself.
As I continued to browse Plays.org I got a flash from the past with a game called Wacky Races Road Trip, little did I know it was a game that would remind me of my sister and when we were kids. My sister is/was a huge Penelope Pitstop fan. I remember growing up she would be watching cartoons, and she always go excited when Penelope Pitstop would race, and I always asked who is this Penelope Pitstop, and each time she tried to show me, the cartoon would be over, so I never knew who she was until I came across this game. I was excited because I finally knew who she was. Apart from all that the game is cute, you play different characters, and drive different cars, it is pretty neat but more for kids than adults. It was a blast from the past though!
All that aside, I was extremely surprised and loved the fact they have a Bible Coloring Book for Kids on a gaming site, that is rare and unusual, but I love it! In addition to that, they offer you a free PDF to download and print, how awesome and generous is that? I noticed when coloring, the music that is played is Christmas music, which confused me a bit. I had to do it twice because I clicked on the 4 squares not knowing that meant a book ( a book icon would probably be better) so I got curious and clicked it and it reset I was bummed because I was almost done. But I didn’t let that stop me. I went for it again and finished it yay. I decided to save my image in two ways, one with my desktop snipping tool, so you can see the crayons on the left and the controls on the right. Then I used the camera icon, and it saves the image as HTML, which I found odd. when I opened the file, I just got a black screen with a message telling me “Exported games won’t work until you upload them. (When running on the file:/// protocol, browsers block many features from working for security reasons.)? I thought this was just going to be a screenshot, glad I took one with my windows snipping tool. Overall, there aren’t enough colors, and too much of one area turns out to be the same color. However, I am an adult, if a child was using it, I don’t think they would care much. I think kids would like it, especially if they like the Bible. In my coloring, I added a sun, I just felt I wanted to see the sun too lol.
All that was awesome, I definitely bookmarked the website because there is so much more to explore, and I like to go back and play UNO now and then. Oh did I mention, this website is all FREE to play! Grown-ups and kids alike would have tons of fun on this site. The loading time is awesome too.
Back to current events, as I mentioned before I fell sick, I don’t know what was going on with me but it put me out for a little over 3 weeks, even right now I am not feeling well. Earlier I was on, cleaning out my emails and I started to feel nauseous I had to go lay down. I think I may save this as a draft and finish it after I have rested a bit because I am beginning to feel nauseous again. I also want to add a few screenshots of the games I played. Except for the very first game I played which was a Zombie Typing Game for Kids lol. Anything zombie always gets me lol. Sure it is for kids, but you know what, I will always be a kid inside, so that is what leads me to certain games, that kid inside.
So, if we have another shutdown, I pray we do not. I will be spending some time on Plays.org, and just distract my mind from current things happening around us all. I hope you are all staying safe & healthy. And I will see you in my next post, God Bless.
