Cold Season, Holidays & Furbabies

November 18, 2025 by Emily Leave a Comment

It is hard to believe that the cold season is here, and the holidays are right around the corner. I have done a little shopping, but still have more to do. As for my weight, I think this past month has been particularly challenging for me. I sometimes have no willpower. I suppose I often reflect on my life, taking my age into account, and remind myself that I don't have much time left, so I want to enjoy certain things. I also think I would like to reach my weight goal I set for myself. This past year, I have maintained the 200 lbs, going over one or two pounds, but this month has just been really bad, and the holidays are coming, which will make it worse. In my last weigh-in, I gained 7 lbs, although 2 lbs of those are from the week before, so really it's 5 lbs. I am bummed out, and I do feel those 7 lbs already. I often pray to my good Continue Reading

Weigh-in Catchup #3

May 20, 2024 by Emily Leave a Comment

Psalm 31.5 (NKJV)

Here we are another huge catch-up on my weight loss journey. This will be a long post. I apologize, but it's good to get it done. So let's get started. Weigh-in #35 (Sept 2, 2023) This was a good weigh-in. I weighed in at 258.5 lbs, I lost 1.7 lbs. It was a good loss. Now I just have to keep that up. We will see as we continue. Weigh-in #36 (Sept 9, 2023) From what I see, I decided to weigh in on Saturdays, so let's see if that continues. I weighed in at 259.3 lbs, I gained approximately .5 lbs. I'm not happy with it, but it is what it is. Weigh-in #37 (Sept 16, 2023) I weighed in at 256.5 lbs. I lost 2.8 lbs, which is great! An average of 2 lbs is what I would like to lose per week. Slow and steady. Weigh-in #38 (Sept 23, 2023) I weighed in at 254.5 lbs, losing 2 lbs, yay. Weigh-in #39 Continue Reading

Weigh-in Progress Catch-Up #2

August 28, 2023 by Emily Leave a Comment

Ezekiel 37:5

With all that is going on, and just not having the time to post as much as I wanted. I thought this would at least catch me up. If you are interested in what is going on in my life, see the previous post, or follow me on Plurk. I post there daily. Okay, let's see where I am in my progress. Looking back, I noticed a mistake I made in my last weigh-in, so I fixed that. Weigh-in #27 (July 9, 2023) - This was a horrible week. I lost 0.1 lbs, that's terrible :( It could have been worse. I weighed in at 269.7 lbs. Weigh-in #28 (July 16, 2023) - Another bad week. I lost 0.3 lbs, yikes :( Let's push on though. I weighed in at 269.4 lbs. Weigh-in #29 (July 22, 2023) - This was much better, and what I like to see. I lost 2.6 lbs. Weighing in at 266.8, yay, let's keep going. Weigh-in #30 (July 29, 2023) - Another good Continue Reading

So Much Going On!

Romans 10:17

Gosh, where do I start? Let me look back to see what I wrote about last. Okay, so I talked about the internet situation, which was finally resolved and so far everything is going well. We are happy about that. I also talked about Pepper, the porch/deck kitty. Well, she is still here, hanging around as usual. I reached out to the same people that I contacted the first time, and they checked and will have an opening before winter. They asked me to take care of her until then. I really hope they aren't messing with me. I am really counting on them, or I would have gone to someone else. I guess we will see. I recently gave her a dewormer, because I noticed tapeworms, and didn't want any around, because of the other ferals. Now sure it's possible they have it as well, especially if they hunt and eat animals they catch. But I try to make it Continue Reading

Keeping Cool With Humid Weather

July 9, 2023 by Emily Leave a Comment

Romans 12:2

We always get humid weather here, most of Summer is humid, sad to say, but at least it is Summer. We take advantage of the days that are nice enough to sit out on the deck. Today we have the sun coming in and out. But it is about 82 degrees, and the low is expected to be 70 degrees, which is quite warm, which makes me concerned for my ferals outside. They are smart though, they find a cool place and stay there most of the day, and begin to come out when it gets cooler. Or when they are getting really hungry, I wouldn't say starving, because I feed them daily. Today, at about 10 am, my husband fed Sammy, I am glad he came around because he looked a bit skinny and needs to put my fat on his body, he also came around yesterday late afternoon. That was an interesting event. I say this because he would always go under the deck to cool off Continue Reading
