Wow I can't believe we are on the T for the A to Z Challenge!!! It's getting close to ending soon, wow this month has truly flown by so quickly. I am looking forward to a lovely spring and wonderful summer, especially going to the Drive In, yeah an actual drive in, do you still go to those, I just recently discovered actual drive-ins over here in Massachusetts, so it's a real treat. When I lived in California, we (our family) used to go to the drive-in every Friday growing up, it was such a treat I tell you. Well speaking of drive-ins and movies, today's film is The Hunger Games, now I haven't seen it yet, I have the book and still haven't read it, shame on me lol. But I really need to get on the ball and read it, as it's not a very long book, I'm excited to read it first. Ok so moving on, what is this film about? In a dystopian Continue Reading
S is for Sin City #AtoZChallenge
Well so we are on the letter S on this A to Z Challenge, we are really getting towards the end now. I'm not going to miss it lol. Sticking to a theme was hard, I started to find it boring after awhile, I think going random would of been a lot more fun, could of covered many topics :) Even though I love films and TV shows, I still would of gone random, maybe next time if I do it, next year, I'll go random. So my film today is Sin City. This was a really impressive film, IMHO, I liked the fact it still had the comic book feel to the film. Really loved this one. I had bought the film, but left my film collection in England, and my roommate at the time gave away all my films, yeah I know sad hey? I was pretty upset about that as well, as I had a really super great collection. Anyway so what's this film about you ask? Four tales of crime Continue Reading
R is for Rise of the Planet of the Apes #AtoZChallenge
I have been waiting to finally see a film about the Planet of the Apes, and finally one came out. I was very excited to see it, as were I'm sure thousands of people. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed, there was not as much interaction with the Apes as I had liked, but I had to keep reminding myself that this was how it all began, from the moment the ape was born, so even so, I was still excited, and happy to see it. I have made it part of my DVD collection! If you don't know what this film is about, here is the quick storyline. At the story's heart is Caesar (Andy Serkis), a chimpanzee who gains human-like intelligence and emotions from an experimental drug. Raised like a child by the drug's creator, Will Rodman (James Franco) and a primatologist Caroline Aranha (Freida Pinto), Caesar ultimately finds himself taken from the Continue Reading
Q is for Quarantine (2008) #AtoZChallenge
I can't believe it's getting closer to the end of the A to Z Challenge, I can't say I won't be happy it will be over, only because I have felt like I had to do this, because I did commit, and I try to finish what I start, so on we go! Today is Q, I choose Quarantine it's a remake of Spanish film-maker Jaume Balagueró's [Rec] (2007). Balagueró wrote the original script for [REC], which was then adapted for Quarantine by American film-makers Drew and John Eric Dowdle (also director). I can speak, read and write in Spanish, so I probably could follow along with the film, although I have to say that sometimes, there have been some films that were made in Spanish but subtitled in English that I just couldn't follow, as they spoke way too quick for my brain to catch up. So I try to stick to English speaking films :) So what's this film about Continue Reading
P is for Prometheus #AtoZChallenge
Ok so today, I picked the film Prometheus, even though it hasn't come out yet, it's due out June 8, 2012. I am really excited about this, I just seen a trailer on it, it's intriguing but it's not that trailer I'm going to share with you. This is one of those futuristic films, I just love them, it makes you think, wonder about possibilities. It does for me anyway. And there are so many possibilities, I mean seriously who knows what the future holds for us all. I am a Syfy girl, and this is the kind of films I like. It started as a script for couple of Alien movie prequels, but with writer Damon Lindelof it has changed into something different altogether. So what is this film about? A team of scientists journey through the universe on the spaceship "Prometheus" on a voyage to investigate Alien life forms. The team of scientists becomes Continue Reading
