Merry Christmas

December 24, 2010 by Emily 1 Comment

We aren't having a white Christmas this year, but that's okay, because I know we will have plenty of snow coming in the next month or two. I am so ready for the snow though. There is a possible snow storm coming Monday, but from the looks of it, I doubt it because it's clear out today. Was a beautiful day. Had so much laundry to do, my gosh! What's more is the dryers weren't drying right, and had to do it twice, that pissed me off because I have a budget for laundry, so I am going to put in a formal complain on Monday lol, I am not a Grinch but damn. I have things to do, and that just pushed me behind with time. I always forget how exhausting wrapping can be, but I still love doing it, because I try to imagine what the person thinks as soon as they open it. And just picking the wrapping paper, or Christmas bag. Gosh speaking of Continue Reading

Where Were You?

September 11, 2010 by Emily 1 Comment

Today is one of many days to remember that has affected all of us in some way. 9/11 how can we forget, we can't. Where were you when you first heard about the bad news? I recall waking up, and hearing the sound of the DJ on the radio, the only thing is he didn't sound like himself. he sounded so sad, and I wondered why that was, as he was always so bubbly and happy. So I listened for a bit and then realised what happened, I immediately got up and turned the TV on and to my shock! I just couldn't believe what had happened. Omg I started to cry! Even now I still feel the sadness, and I know I will eventually have a little  session. I don't like to have my blogs be sad, and I'm going to try to perk this one up, but I just wanted anyone who stumbles across this blog, to have at least remembered if even for 30 seconds. I'm about Continue Reading

Happy Cinco de Mayo

May 5, 2010 by Emily Leave a Comment

Although I am not Mexican, I did grow up around the Mexican culture, it's very similar to my Guatemalan culture. Growing up in California, I was exposed to this celebration yearly. I really enjoyed it, it had always been a very festive holiday. You would see colorful decorations all around, in school, shops, just about everywhere. There was music, dancing, costumes, parades, and a lot of tequila and beer hehe, the same in Los Angeles just on a much larger scale, specifically on Olvera Street in Los Angeles. Olvera Street get's really packed on weekends if Cinco de Mayo falls on a weekend, during the week it's a bit slower as any other major holiday. The food has always been so good. It's one of my favorites! Cinco de Mayo is celebrated all over the United States, outside of the US apart from Mexico, I don't know. I'll leave you with a Continue Reading

So Terribly Sad

February 26, 2010 by Emily Leave a Comment

Did you all hear about the killer whale that killed it's trainer, Dawn Brancheau at SeaWorld Orlando? Omgosh!! It's killed before and they still let it out with trainers, this is such a sad story. I feel so bad for the family, what is going to be done? Are they going to let it be trained by another person and have all that happen again, didn't they learn the first time? It should of been enough personally with the first time it killed, hello .. its a Killer Whale for gosh sakes! You can read about it here if you like article. Ahh I should change the theme of this post, it's too sad, but so much sad news comes on, you can't help but read or watch it. This week we had to change the faucet on the claw foot tub, I twittered about it, but still wanted to briefly talk about it, it all ended up good, William did an fantastic job, we will use Continue Reading

At A Moments Notice

February 24, 2010 by Emily 3 Comments

It's amazing how things can change at a moments notice. When you feel finally you are getting somewhere, then things go to shit! I won't bore you with my life's details, but yeah. I had mentioned before I wanted to get a :dog: , but I think I won't be able to after all. Circumstances have changed, and well I have to change with them. It was really nice thinking about it. I never had my very own dog before, so that was going to be a very nice experience. I had 2 :cat2: in my life, my first cat Priscilla she was a Calico cat, loving kitty, so very attached to me as a kitten and even as an adult cat. I moved and I couldn't have her where I was, so my sister took her, but under the condition that she keep the pet as her own, I agreed because my sister loves animals. I've told this story before, but now I feel like talking about it again lol. Continue Reading
