G is for Ghost #AtoZChallenge

April 7, 2012 by Emily 4 Comments

I remember when I first seen this film, I cried, I admit it. I did cry. Back then I just loved these type of films, love stories hehe. Now it's a little different, I don't watch as much love stores, unless they are very different, and this one was. A classic that has just recently been made into a musical, Ghost the musical. I was actually pleasantly surprised when I heard this, at least they didn't re-make a film about it. I'm not sure how I would of felt about that, probably the same way I felt about Footloose, I am curious to know what the musical would be like, I don't think I'll be seeing it, but I am going to keep my ears open to see what the public thinks. So anyway, what is this film about for those of you who haven't seen it? Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are a very happy couple and deeply in love. Walking Continue Reading

F is for Footloose (1984) #AtoZChallenge

April 6, 2012 by Emily 8 Comments

I believe the remake of Footloose has come out, I've seen the trailer and I don't like it much. Footloose from 1984 is by far a much better film in my opinion. There are some films you just shouldn't make a remake of and this is one of them. So what is this film about? Ren McCormick (Kevin Bacon), a decidedly urban teen who's transplanted to a small Midwestern town where dancing is outlawed. Recruiting his best pal, the quiet Willard (Chris Penn), and his girlfriend (Lori Singer), a clergyman's daughter, Ren starts a revolution by moving to the beat I seen a couple of Kevin Bacon's interviews, and initially he didn't know he was going to have to dance in the film, until he was cast and they told him that he would have to take dance classes, he also said in a separate interview he was mostly concerned with can he pull off being 17, does Continue Reading

30 Days Of Truth – Day 13: A Band Or Artist That Has Gotten You Through Some Tough Ass Days

February 9, 2012 by Emily 2 Comments

This 30 DOT is a really super hard one, because I have never really turned to music for comfort in situations, I feel odd saying that, because I know a lot of people do. I guess I'm the odd one then. I think listening to music would depress me more than lift my spirits, funny I know, but I feel that is true for myself. I'm going to give myself some time to think about this, but honestly I don't think I can come up with anything. Well I thought about it, long and hard, and I still can't really connect with any band or artist. As much as I would like, there isn't any at all. I think when tough times come, I just want peace, maybe do a bit of reading or watch a film. But as much as I love music, not one song I can think of has ever been comforting. They are all just different, and even though some may start to relate it goes into a Continue Reading

Best Oldies Songs Ever

April 30, 2011 by Emily Leave a Comment

So I was reminiscing earlier today as we drove around, we took a nice drive around today, I had a nice time! Anyway as we drove around, we listed to the radio a bit, and usually I'll want to listen to some rock, so I do what I do so best, I went switching around the stations and we came upon a radio station where they were playing the best oldies songs ever! As I mentioned earlier I was reminiscing. I was remembering when I was in high school and Jr. high school, and the school would hold the annual 50's dance, omg I remember it so well. When I was in Jr high I didn't care much about it, but when I was in high school that was a whole different thing. I remember asking my dad to make me a poodle skirt and he did. OMG I have a photo somewhere hehe. Seriously, I remember going to thrift stores, trying to find a pair of oxford shoes, OMG Continue Reading

Happy Valentine’s Day

February 14, 2011 by Emily 2 Comments

Here we are another year with Valentine's Day upon us, as quickly as it arrived, it will become the past. There are not a lot of fans of Valentine's Day but I have to be quite honest, I have always been such a big fan of it, even when I was in bad relationships, or was just single. I couldn't help but love he idea of Valentine's Day, the one day that we make a big fuss about 'Love'. I'm sure there are hundreds of people that say this day is overrated or over commericalised, but that may be so. I don't really care, because the bottom line, what this day means to me is all that really matters. I love my boyfriend, and I show him that I love him, not only Valentine's Day but every day that we are together. Ok so enough of that mushy lovey dovey stuff, I just wanted to get that out there. So last night was the Grammy's wow there were some Continue Reading
