Fall, Furbabies & Good Weather

October 22, 2024 by Emily Leave a Comment

Daniel 6:27 (NKJV)

Hello. I am still alive :). I have just been super busy. It is fall, but today we are having temp of 80 F it hasn't gotten there yet, so we shall see. My husband's birthday was yesterday, I took him out to dinner and did a little shopping afterward. It is always hard to get him something because he always tells me he doesn't need anything. But I'm glad I told him to let's go to Ollie's, and he saw a fall jacket he wanted so we got that for him, it fits him great, and is using it daily. I don't recall if I talked about Oreo, a sweet, very friendly cat. I just adore him. I must have because he showed up last November. I'll post a picture of him. This sweet boy is Oreo. I just love him. Last week on Tuesday he didn't show up. He always shows up in the morning for breakfast. I got worried that he hadn't been waiting on the deck Continue Reading

Psalm 98:6

I think many can agree the weather has just been crazy. Today, for instance, I woke up to thunder, lightning, and rain. And just yesterday, it was super sunny and hot. It was so hot I had to close the living room curtains because when the sun gets to that side of the house, it cooks the house. It is like that every year, the sun that is. The thunderstorm is another story. All through May it has been raining, and cold. It's unusually cold for that time of the year, which postponed working on the yard. Yesterday, my husband took out the bags of mulch and placed them near the areas where he is going to work. We took out the cushions for the deck furniture also, only for him to bring them in, in the morning. I popped out of bed, thinking oh my gosh, the cushions are going to be drenched. It was raining awhile so I saw it to be pointless Continue Reading

Ezekiel 34:31 (NKJV)

I am embarrassed for waiting so long to post. I know better than that. I need to change that. Today my cat Lily has a vet appointment. Last night we gave her 1 pill of gabapentin and about 2 hours later she was really out of it. I looked for her in the room where she usually naps/sleeps but she wasn't there. Earlier I blocked the cat door to the basement, so she wouldn't trip going down the stairs. I found her by the water fountain, apparently she needed water, I am guessing she had some. She was laying down just flat on the carpet, not loafing. I thought yeah the medicine must have hit her. So I picked her up. She usually protests when we try to pick her up, by meowing. No meow came out of her. So I gently picked her up and took her to the room. I placed her on a bag of shoes for some reason she wanted to lay on earlier, as it was down Continue Reading

So Much Going On!

Romans 10:17

Gosh, where do I start? Let me look back to see what I wrote about last. Okay, so I talked about the internet situation, which was finally resolved and so far everything is going well. We are happy about that. I also talked about Pepper, the porch/deck kitty. Well, she is still here, hanging around as usual. I reached out to the same people that I contacted the first time, and they checked and will have an opening before winter. They asked me to take care of her until then. I really hope they aren't messing with me. I am really counting on them, or I would have gone to someone else. I guess we will see. I recently gave her a dewormer, because I noticed tapeworms, and didn't want any around, because of the other ferals. Now sure it's possible they have it as well, especially if they hunt and eat animals they catch. But I try to make it Continue Reading

Wow, August Already?

Isaiah 43:4

For the last two weeks, really since May 2023, we have had a bad internet connection. But the last two weeks have been horrible, most of the time seemed like downtime. It got to a point I needed to call Verizon and find out what was happening. I tried numerous times to restart the router and troubleshoot via the Verizon app which they recommend. Then I tried a chat session, the first time we got disconnected due to doing it via my computer, I should have known better. But then I tried again via computer, and the same thing happened. I was pretty upset. I finally decided to try the chat session via my browser on my phone and have it on data only. Well, when the rep needed me to go to my browser and do a speed test, we got disconnected. I was fuming by this time, but trying to keep my cool. I then decided to call and went through everything Continue Reading
