We are halfway through winter, and we have had only one big snowfall. I loved it, I know that those that live here, are happy when there isn't much snowfall, but for me, it's so much fun to see and experience that it would be awesome if it would fall again. I'm not sure how many snowfalls I'm going to experience, but I try to enjoy it to the fullest. Coming from California, we didn't see much snow, unless you actually went up to Big Bear. Well now I am on the opposite side of the USA, and I am really enjoying the weather, sure it's cold but a sweater or a nice warm blanket can take care of that. The roughest time for me here is during summer, I came here in July of last year, and oh my goodness, the humidity was horrible, I could seriously live without that. Outrageous Prices!!
When I look out the window it looks like it can be spring, but if you step out you can feel the cold chill in the air, and the lawns with snow still on them, and then you remember, 'Hey it's still winter'! I think we are halfway through winter. I'm actually hoping for another blizzard is that so wrong of me? lol. I took about an hour off from writing this blog, I was looking for a food steamer, similar to one I used when I was in England, and OMGOSH it's hard to find here in the states. I found electric ones, and the stainless steel or aluminum ones were expensive, well actually the stainless steel ones are, I won't even talk about the shipping. And on Ebay the shipping is higher than on Amazon. So I found a nice aluminum one on Amazon and got that, which makes steaming vegetables much easier. I'll post a picture of it. It’s Almost Here!
I can't believe how quickly it's coming up! Christmas is almost here. Did you all get all your shopping done? I did! William still doing a little after work today. Yesterday he was here most of the day, we were waiting for Verizon to show up, to switch us over to Fios. When I was in California at my sisters' house, she had Fios, and it was very fast. I have yet to test the speed of the internet. But I am glad we have it. Unfortunately, it would cost like $300 to get out of the contract with DirectTV and switch over to the other company, so that won't happen until after the contract ends. About A Foot!
That is right, we got about 12-14 inches of snow, it's my first blizzard *all happy* lol, it's as amazing as I thought it would be. Fluffy white, of course, the more you try to shovel the heavier it gets, but I had a good time! I was exhausted after, but it was fun, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world. It was my first experience with this much snow, and I was just in awe over a lot of things, such as the salt they put on the ground so that the snow that falls on it, will melt it. Seriously I was like 'wow' lol. William must have thought of me as a weirdo lol. All I kept saying is "Omgosh that's so cool!" hehe. Being from California, I am not exposed to this much snow. Hustle and Bustle!
Now it gets really crazy, last-minute shopping, Christmas parties, and all kinds of stuff. As I mentioned in my last post, on Sunday we are going to William's sisters' house for Christmas dinner, which will be nice. But the weather is going to be crazy that night, I hear possible snow *brr* get cold just thinking of it. Although I welcome it, living in California most of my life, I saw snow, and if I did, it was up in the high desert area, interesting it snowed in the high desert. We were pretty close to Big Bear there, so we got a lot of that cold weather. But it was really nice, and getting a chance to see a lot of snow being dumped in this area is going to be awesome!
