Here I am with my 2nd weigh-in. I did good, it was not nearly as much as my first, but I knew it wouldn't always be high numbers. Even this weigh-in I feel will not be a normal number. The last time I was doing this, my usual number was 2 lbs a week, and that is with no exercise, apart from the normal doing around the house, doing laundry, going downstairs to the basement, and whatnot. Unfortunately because of my weight, I cannot get on the treadmill yet. I don't want to break it lol. Pretty much the same thing I did last time, I didn't get a treadmill the first time until I was well below 300 lbs, and right now I am still over 300 lbs, so this is how it goes for now. Now for my weigh-in progress photo. I noticed in my last photos the picture was way too close, so this time I decided to back up with the camera a bit. I lost 5.4 Continue Reading
Weigh-in #01 – Here We Go Again!
Yeah, that is correct. Here I go again, trying to lose weight. I did it before, and things just went wrong. I am not going to go in-depth about that, as I have already posted a blog about it when it happened. If I can dig up the blog post, I will add a link in this post leading you to that post. I finally got tired of being overweight, it happens to us all, but for me, I just had enough of it. I am tired of it. I don't feel well, well I do feel well, but my knees are bothering me. I am 5'1 small framed but I am way overweight, into the obese category sad to say I am 58 and I don't want to die because I am overweight. I am being brutally honest with you all here. However, I hope all that changes. I started my diet officially on Jan 2, 2023, and on that day I weighed in, to see where I would be starting. My weight at the time was Continue Reading
Wow! I actually forgot!
Believe it or not, I actually seriously forgot I had this blog (Emily.nu). Maybe it is time to let it go. I'm sitting here while catching up with Big Brother. I received an email about this blog needing to update, and it hit me. I hadn't updated since January. I feel terrible, but life has been so busy. recently decided to focus more on my reseller business, as I have tons of stuff to list both on Ebay and Poshmark. I had been listing on Ebay, but I finally decided to cross-list onto Poshmark. I am considering Mercari which is another listing platform. I haven't really looked into it as much, their shopping is less than Poshmark, however, I don't know everything I need to know about it yet. I am still learning new things from both Ebay and Poshmark. That has kept me so busy, not to mention trying to keep adding new content to my Continue Reading
How Fast Did 2019 Arrive?
I would say warp speed. I felt as if it was just Christmas, and now it is almost the end of January, wow! Happy New Year! I hope your holiday was fun and memorable. I had a nice Christmas with my honey and his family, and then here at home with just us and the girls (our cats: Lily & Daisy). We had some snowfall last week, not a lot but it did make it very cold. Today is warmer so it is melting away. However, it is super windy and it does cause me concern. The last time we had strong winds a tree fell on our deck, and we would hate for that to happen again. Oh please NO!! I decided to remove the contact form from this website because I continued to get a lot of soliciting emails, and I really don't want anything to do with them. Most of them were obvious they didn't even check the content lol. There is an email that a visitor Continue Reading
Ketogenic Dieting
The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures. Almost half of children, and young people, with epilepsy who have tried some form of this diet saw the number of seizures Continue Reading
