It truly is here, Fall. And the temperatures are dropping little by little. Tonight it's going to be in the low 40s. I need to assemble a new heated cat house for Lilo. Speaking of Lilo (she is a semi-feral cat that lives on the deck, and maybe one day will become an inside cat), she hadn't been feeling well last night. She didn't eat much or get up waiting for me like she usually does. It really made me sad :( Today, I checked on her, didn't really want to eat. She got up, went to sit in the sun, then returned to her bed. She finally had a little to eat. I am hoping tomorrow she will feel better. I love that little girl very much. I have my inside girls, so I can't bring her in yet. I know she gets ticks now and then. I felt one under her chin/jaw today, so tomorrow I am removing it. She's semi-feral, so I hope she doesn't get too fussy. Continue Reading
Rain In The Summer
We always seem to get rain during the summer. Over the 4th of July weekend, we had a thunderstorm. It was refreshing but loud. I happen to open the front door to get mail, and boom I hear a thunder sound, it was so unbelievably loud. It startled me. The sky got so dark, it was crazy, but like I said refreshing. We didn't get a chance to sit on our deck because of the rain. But now the cushions are out, and when my husband gets home he goes out there for a while sits, and reads. I go out and sit for a little while and pet Pepper. Pepper is a friendly stray that hangs around the house. I spoke about her before. I'll be honest I am growing very fond of her. She Continue Reading
Momo Is Recovering
Momo, the feral cat with the injured eye, is in my basement in a dog crate. He is recovering from his surgery, he was successfully neutered, and they gave him a shot that lasts for 2 weeks to heal his eye. Backstory on the eye, when he was a few months younger, I noticed a slash under his eye, not sure if it was from a cat fight or hurt himself some other way, or God forbid, it was a human. I hadn't even begun to get things to do a TNR, so yes time had passed. Fast forward to vet appointment day. They asked if I could keep him for at least a week to see if his eye was improving. He wasn't eating or drinking since the day I trapped him, which was Aug 8, 2022, after 5:30 pm, up until last night at about 5:30 am. That was concerning me. He loves wet food, I left him food twice, the first day he was recovering from anesthesia, and then on Continue Reading
