Back To School Time!

Lizzy First day of 4th grade 2012

So I don't have any kids, I have nieces and nephews all probably out of school with the exception of my darling youngest niece Beth, she is just too adorable, reddish hair and lots of freckles such a cutie. She is too adorable, but now I find out she is going by the name Lizzy, how cute is that. When I think of the name Lizzy, I think of Lizzy Borden, lol, if you all know who that is. But this little cutie isn't anything like Lizzy Borden, she is just adorable. She has already gone back to school, earlier last month, must show you a photo of her on her first day of 4th grade, she is just too cute. I'm not too fond of her glasses, but she is a little cutie pie. I love her to bits. Isn't she just a little cutie? I think she is :) So anyway, everyone is going back to school. That's going to be a relief for a lot of people, having Continue Reading

A New Set & So Very Pleased With My Nails

June 25, 2012 by Emily 3 Comments

Ok so in the past I have talked about doing my own nails, and I have. I first experienced with the less expensive products, which I failed at, you can tell if you look back at my blog, and view the pictures of the train wreck. So I put off doing them and instead stocked up on supplies. I even got vegan nail polish to see how they were as I had never tried them before. You can see this review of the top vegan nail polish: https://thegreenforks.com/best-vegan-nail-polish/ if you want to know more about it. Now that I have done that I wanted to give it another go, which I did on my own nails since I had such a hard time getting the tip to adhere to the fake plastic finger *sigh* so aggravating that was. So I finally did it, did my own nails with a more expensive product but I was pleased with the results, I have to say that it was not easy Continue Reading

If At First You Don’t Succeed … Well You Know The Rest!?

May 30, 2012 by Emily Leave a Comment

I have mentioned in the past that I am teaching myself to do nails, and even though it looks easy on video, it really isn't. First is gluing the tip on to the nail, you can leave air pockets, and then that can cause some kind of infection, so you have to be careful with that, then getting down the amount of acrylic liquid and acrylic powder turned out to be difficult for me last night. I had initially wanted and still do, to practice on these plastic fingers that you can buy, it's much better than doing it on your self, and if something goes wrong, having to soak your fingers in pure acetone to remove the nail, just to turn around and try again. Sounds reasonable doesn't it? Ok so that was my first nail I did. I was very disappointed, I started to think why did this happen? Was it the powder? the acrylic? Or maybe it was how much I Continue Reading

Trying To Save Money Anyway I Can

May 9, 2012 by Emily 2 Comments

OK so I think I had mentioned that I wanted to try to do my own nails. Well while I waited for some more supplies that I needed, I went ahead and purchased the All Season Quick Dip Powder System, it cost $15.99 at Sally Beauty, a wonderful website, and even better store go stop in and do a shop. So as I said I tried this out today. I have some pro's and con's with this. But honestly next time I would rather go to a nail bar dublin and give them a splash of color to brighten up your day, you can have pampered your hands and fingernails to perfection without spending a fortune, than trying to do my nails again! Pro's: It's fast, easy, you can do it yourself, inexpensive Con's: If not done properly it will not look like it was professionally done, if you get a bad batch your screwed Ok so it cost $15.99 it's not too bad, when you get Continue Reading

Getting Organised Is Going To Be Fun

May 6, 2012 by Emily 1 Comment

Went on a shopping adventure with the boyfriend, I finally got my things for getting started with doing my nails, I'm really excited about it! I got a really great deal on the manicure table, it's used, but in excellent condition, the wheels have some issues but William is going to reinforce them and they will be just fine. Again it's just for starting, if it's something I decide to take on as long term thing then perhaps after properly going to school for it, and getting certified then I can get a better one, but this one is just perfect! I guess it's going to be kind of a hobby thing, and hey I can always do friends nails to get more practice in, as long as they are patient, BUT yeah I will definitely practice a lot first, even on myself :) So we were out doing some shopping, stopped a few times at Dunkin Donuts for some wonderful Continue Reading
