I have mentioned in the past that I am teaching myself to do nails, and even though it looks easy on video, it really isn’t. First is gluing the tip on to the nail, you can leave air pockets, and then that can cause some kind of infection, so you have to be careful with that, then getting down the amount of acrylic liquid and acrylic powder turned out to be difficult for me last night. I had initially wanted and still do, to practice on these plastic fingers that you can buy, it’s much better than doing it on your self, and if something goes wrong, having to soak your fingers in pure acetone to remove the nail, just to turn around and try again. Sounds reasonable doesn’t it?
Ok so that was my first nail I did. I was very disappointed, I started to think why did this happen? Was it the powder? the acrylic? Or maybe it was how much I was picking up, so that is what I concluded. I did get very disappointed, but my wonderful boyfriend William said, that it takes practice, everyone’s first time is not going to be perfect. And he is right. So I felt a little better, but still beating myself up about it lol. Now this was last night, after I failed at that, I had to soak my nail and to remove it, which took some time, as it was clumped on *see photo* lol. So while I did that I watched the video that came with the nail trainer, and watched about 45 minutes of that. Learned a lot of things in that short amount of time.
The photo didn’t come out that great, I had shadows, and all but you get the idea. So today I am going to search YouTube for the reason why the nail didn’t stick to the fake finger, this is what a fake finger looks like, it’s pretty much plastic.
So as you can see, it would be easier to work on those, than it would on my own, just for the sake of time, because as it happened last night, it didn’t work out right on my own finger, I had to take about 30 minutes just to remove the one finger, so yeah that kind of bummed me out. So now I need to find out why the nail isn’t staying glued to the fake finger. Once I get that down, I can continue my practice, not point in trying to glue it again, when the first time it failed So as I progress, I’ll post about it
