Check or No Check Is the Question!

July 13, 2020 by Emily Leave a Comment

The big question on many of our minds is ‘Will there be another stimulus check?’ I don’t know, but with what I have been reading in the paper, and seeing on the news it sure looks like it may happen. COVID-19 is affecting millions of people, many of you may never hear about them, but they are out there and they need help. A lot of people are hoping there is a 2nd stimulus check with all these businesses that have permanently closed, and millions that have lost their jobs, people need money to buy food, pay bills, etc.

I stumbled onto this article on Forbes about the ‘Second Stimulus’ check, I found it interesting and gives those in need hope, the possibility of a recurring direct stimulus check would be a godsend for many, but will it happen? We can only hope and pray.

I think now more than ever we need to manage our money better. Make every dollar count and stretch it the best way possible. Managing is key! In all honesty, getting the economy back on track is key, are we at all close to this reality? One day it seems like it is and then the next it’s unattainable.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) can assist those that need help with paying their rent or mortgage. If you are not aware of this website I recommend it, you may qualify, it doesn’t hurt to look into it and get that assistance you need. You can also check Consumer Affairs, for help with financial guidance, banking, and credit card reviews.

Once you have the assistance and have money coming in, managing will help stretch it, it is down to knowing how. I’m an online reseller the money I make I want to manage better. There are numerous ways that can help us out. I recently became aware of a few places that can help, as a matter of fact, the latest one is a website called Pigly.com. I like the fact it is an ad-free website and it makes it so much easier to navigate. They offer a wide range of tools and there are many ways to figure out your finances for free.

Recently I was on CNBC and noticed an article under ‘Latest News’ that read ‘Dig Out Of Debt’, of course, that intrigued me so I had to go and read it. I was so happy for Michelle Jackson and how she was able to get out of debt, it’s an inspiring story you should read it if you have a moment.

Storytime, I’ll make it brief.

Back in 2008 during the great recession that affected thousands, including our household. We lost our home, rented for about 8 years, then finally bought another home, where we are now. I know what it feels like to possibly lose your home and the reality that you are losing it to a bad economy. It is heartbreaking, stressful, with no help in sight.

This article on Market Watch, almost brought me to tears, watching the video, seeing people holding up signs that say ‘I want to keep my house help us’. It breaks my heart because I know those fears and the reality of it. It is hard to believe based on this article’s video that 20 million Americans may be evicted by September, which is a staggering number. Oh my goodness, my heart hurts for them.

Because of the reality of videos like the one above is why recurring stimulus checks are needed more now than ever. Look at the current news, COVID-19 infected numbers are rising again in some states. We may go back into a shutdown. These are crazy times. I never thought I would live to see something like this. I can’t believe what is going on in the world right now. We have to prepare ourselves in every way possible. I pray for us all.
