Momo Is Recovering

August 11, 2022 by Emily Leave a Comment

Momo, the feral cat with the injured eye, is in my basement in a dog crate. He is recovering from his surgery, he was successfully neutered, and they gave him a shot that lasts for 2 weeks to heal his eye. Backstory on the eye, when he was a few months younger, I noticed a slash under his eye, not sure if it was from a cat fight or hurt himself some other way, or God forbid, it was a human. I hadn't even begun to get things to do a TNR, so yes time had passed. Fast forward to vet appointment day. They asked if I could keep him for at least a week to see if his eye was improving. He wasn't eating or drinking since the day I trapped him, which was Aug 8, 2022, after 5:30 pm, up until last night at about 5:30 am. That was concerning me. He loves wet food, I left him food twice, the first day he was recovering from anesthesia, and then on Continue Reading

Momo is On The Mend

He loves wet food, I left him food twice, the first day he was recovering from anesthesia, and then on the last night the 9th after I got him into the crate, he just seems bummed out, and depressed, I understand he is in a new environment, and he will come out of his shell when he is really hungry. This is my first TNR so I am not used to it. Normally, when a male cat is neutered, soon after they are released, as long as they are completely aware, and Continue Reading

Success Is A Good Feeling

I am beyond happy today, yesterday I was able to trap Momo, even though I was so nervous, we trapped him while having dinner. As soon as we saw him trapped we ran out and covered the trap so that he would not be too scared, even though I can tell he still was and is. I was scared for him, I wanted him to be seen by a vet so much. Our local animal shelter offers a voucher for the TNR program, to get feral cats spayed or neutered, to help reduce the number of poor kittens being born, and dying out there. I am so glad I had the opportunity to help a cat. The pictures below are from yesterday August 8, 2022, he is eating in the first photo, and soon after is when the trap is triggered. He looked so scared. In the 2nd and 3rd pictures (below), he may have bit his tongue or lip or something because he was drooling a little and it looked like it Continue Reading

MIA 6 Months? Really? Again?

August 5, 2022 by Emily Leave a Comment

Time flies when you are busy and have multiple things going on in your life. That is true, but it is true also that I have two other blogs I write in, and even on them I tend to get behind. There don't seem to be enough hours in a day. I have to admit, that I seem to get distracted a lot. For example today, I found myself looking up Vintage Leather Coach Bags, I have a new obsession, but I am trying not to get in over my head, so I look for a good deal, or I look on the Shop Goodwill website and see what they have, another thing is that you need to make sure and get the bag authenticated because there are so many fakes out there. As you can see I can go off on a topic. Other than that I have been doing reviews as part of Vine on Amazon, which had taken up a bit of my time too. And now I am trying to trap a few feral cats around my Continue Reading

My Quest To Humanely Trap Momo

July 21, 2022 by Emily Leave a Comment

This kitten showed up about 6 months ago and didn't really start coming around every day until about 3 months ago. The first time I saw him, he was so tiny, I saw him through my kitchen window, and I tried to snap a picture it didn't come out great, but you could see how small he was then. As with all the outside cats, dogs, or wild animals, I take the best pictures I can, as it is at random times, and most times are through windows. I keep a folder on my computer for each cat, and I name the ones that frequent the most, those are Lilo (saw him first, adorable Tortie), then Sammy (he was a teen cat then, he looks like a Ginger), and now Momo (a cute Ginger), they all seem to be boys. As I was saying, Momo, started to come around frequently, the first time I saw him he was tiny it was through the kitchen window and looked horrible but Continue Reading
