Weigh-in #02 – Getting A Good Start!

January 19, 2023 by Emily Leave a Comment

Here I am with my 2nd weigh-in. I did good, it was not nearly as much as my first, but I knew it wouldn't always be high numbers. Even this weigh-in I feel will not be a normal number. The last time I was doing this, my usual number was 2 lbs a week, and that is with no exercise, apart from the normal doing around the house, doing laundry, going downstairs to the basement, and whatnot. Unfortunately because of my weight, I cannot get on the treadmill yet. I don't want to break it lol. Pretty much the same thing I did last time, I didn't get a treadmill the first time until I was well below 300 lbs, and right now I am still over 300 lbs, so this is how it goes for now. Now for my weigh-in progress photo. I noticed in my last photos the picture was way too close, so this time I decided to back up with the camera a bit. I lost 5.4 Continue Reading

Ketogenic Dieting

February 2, 2018 by Emily Leave a Comment

The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates. Normally, the carbohydrates contained in food are converted into glucose, which is then transported around the body and is particularly important in fueling brain-function. However, if there is little carbohydrate in the diet, the liver converts fat into fatty acids and ketone bodies. The ketone bodies pass into the brain and replace glucose as an energy source. An elevated level of ketone bodies in the blood, a state known as ketosis, leads to a reduction in the frequency of epileptic seizures. Almost half of children, and young people, with epilepsy who have tried some form of this diet saw the number of seizures Continue Reading

January 13, 2018 by Emily Leave a Comment

A new year, better planning & organizing, selling on ebay and losing weight. Those are pretty much my New Years Resolutions, we will revisit this in December/January see how I am doing. This post sat here unwritten for 2 days, today is January 4th, 2018. I began with my resolutions and look at me still falling into my old ways *kicks self* lol. Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all had an amazing and memorable holiday. We had a very nice one, even while I was sick for the entire time. At the writing of this post, I still have a cough that is slowing making its way out the door thank goodness. Being sick for the holidays wasn't fun, but I tried my best to keep the cheer going. Did my home decorating, shopping and all. It was our first Christmas in our new home, so it was exciting! Yesterday we were hit with a blizzard, thank goodness Continue Reading

We had a White Christmas, sorta!

Christmas Wreath outside

I have always wanted to have a White Christmas, the fact we got some early snow this year I had high hopes. Christmas Eve comes along, no snow! I was bummed but thought okay next year. So when I wake up Christmas morning. My honey tells me, you might want to look outside!! I was, huh? What are you talking about? All confused right? I look through the curtain and right away I see it is SNOWING!! I thought OMG OMG we are having a White Christmas after all. I didn't take any pictures of the snow and all trust me I will bomb you with those later, but I am sharing the little white Christmas tree from Dollar Tree I had in my room, cute right :) A few days prior while shopping, it was snowing and they flakes were big. My honey says "It may not stick, the flakes are too big", he was right, it stopped snowing and yeah we had a little slush Continue Reading

New Year, New Trials and Tribulations, Let’s GO!

January 17, 2017 by Emily Leave a Comment

Last year was ok until I hit that bad bump. But it is 2017, Happy New Year, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season, we did. I am excited, and I am back on my diet (way of life) lol. This is my 5th day. Saturday was my second weight-in, so I will show both in a moment, but I will tell you, I did gain weight, that is a no-brainer after my last post. So here we go (again)~! But I also lost weight, so Yay! I began writing this, last week so I do have an additional weigh-in. I thought about titling my weight status as I did before, but since I won't be doing one each week, I may just group a few. I really have so much going on, I have to organize my time better. It is so hard, though, I get sidetracked, and that throws me off. I managed 40 minutes of walking on the treadmill today lol, man I miss where I was before, I really Continue Reading
