Keeping Cool With Humid Weather

July 9, 2023 by Emily Leave a Comment

Romans 12:2

We always get humid weather here, most of Summer is humid, sad to say, but at least it is Summer. We take advantage of the days that are nice enough to sit out on the deck. Today we have the sun coming in and out. But it is about 82 degrees, and the low is expected to be 70 degrees, which is quite warm, which makes me concerned for my ferals outside. They are smart though, they find a cool place and stay there most of the day, and begin to come out when it gets cooler. Or when they are getting really hungry, I wouldn't say starving, because I feed them daily. Today, at about 10 am, my husband fed Sammy, I am glad he came around because he looked a bit skinny and needs to put my fat on his body, he also came around yesterday late afternoon. That was an interesting event. I say this because he would always go under the deck to cool off Continue Reading

Rain In The Summer

July 7, 2023 by Emily Leave a Comment

We always seem to get rain during the summer. Over the 4th of July weekend, we had a thunderstorm. It was refreshing but loud. I happen to open the front door to get mail, and boom I hear a thunder sound, it was so unbelievably loud. It startled me. The sky got so dark, it was crazy, but like I said refreshing. After that, the mugginess came and stuck around for a bit, until it rained a little bit more. During the week we will have 90's weather, then the coming weekend more rain lol. We didn't get a chance to sit on our deck because of the rain. But now the cushions are out, and when my husband gets home he goes out there for a while sits, and reads. I go out and sit for a little while and pet Pepper. Pepper is a friendly stray that hangs around the house. I spoke about her before. I'll be honest I am growing very fond of her. She Continue Reading

Weigh-in #01 – Here We Go Again!

January 10, 2023 by Emily 2 Comments

Yeah, that is correct. Here I go again, trying to lose weight. I did it before, and things just went wrong. I am not going to go in-depth about that, as I have already posted a blog about it when it happened. If I can dig up the blog post, I will add a link in this post leading you to that post. I finally got tired of being overweight, it happens to us all, but for me, I just had enough of it. I am tired of it. I don't feel well, well I do feel well, but my knees are bothering me. I am 5'1 small framed but I am way overweight, into the obese category sad to say I am 58 and I don't want to die because I am overweight. I am being brutally honest with you all here. However, I hope all that changes. I started my diet officially on Jan 2, 2023, and on that day I weighed in, to see where I would be starting. My weight at the time was Continue Reading

Success Is A Good Feeling

August 9, 2022 by Emily Leave a Comment

I am beyond happy today, yesterday I was able to trap Momo, even though I was so nervous, we trapped him while having dinner. As soon as we saw him trapped we ran out and covered the trap so that he would not be too scared, even though I can tell he still was and is. I was scared for him, I wanted him to be seen by a vet so much. Our local animal shelter offers a voucher for the TNR program, to get feral cats spayed or neutered, to help reduce the number of poor kittens being born, and dying out there. I am so glad I had the opportunity to help a cat. The pictures below are from yesterday August 8, 2022, he is eating in the first photo, and soon after is when the trap is triggered. He looked so scared. In the 2nd and 3rd pictures (below), he may have bit his tongue or lip or something because he was drooling a little and it looked like it Continue Reading

My Quest To Humanely Trap Momo

July 21, 2022 by Emily Leave a Comment

This kitten showed up about 6 months ago and didn't really start coming around every day until about 3 months ago. The first time I saw him, he was so tiny, I saw him through my kitchen window, and I tried to snap a picture it didn't come out great, but you could see how small he was then. As with all the outside cats, dogs, or wild animals, I take the best pictures I can, as it is at random times, and most times are through windows. I keep a folder on my computer for each cat, and I name the ones that frequent the most, those are Lilo (saw him first, adorable Tortie), then Sammy (he was a teen cat then, he looks like a Ginger), and now Momo (a cute Ginger), they all seem to be boys. As I was saying, Momo, started to come around frequently, the first time I saw him he was tiny it was through the kitchen window and looked horrible but Continue Reading
