I don’t even know where to begin. So I will just jump in. It has been over a month since I posted any kind of update. I have had so much going on. Between listing stuff for sale and keeping on top of that, writing reviews for products, feeding the cats inside and outside, and my day-to-day things here at home. It has been pretty hectic. So forgive me for not coming to post updates on anything, including my weigh-ins.
As for my weigh-ins, I still do them, and I still keep track of them, so that I can come and do an update. Today I decided it has been long enough. I need to continue doing this, and making updates on life as well. This is the only real blog I post most on. I also am on Plurk, where I do updates on daily things, I like to keep track of. That shares to Twitter as well. I post a few things on Instagram but lately, I have been posting a daily photo of a cat that is from my pageaday.com desk cat calendar, I couldn’t help myself with that. I think those furbabies are so beautiful. I want to maybe begin sharing photos of pets that are lost, but I think I may start doing that on my other Instagram that one is a_little.faith if you are so inclined to follow
I am sure I have mentioned before that I feed a few feral cats. I have mentioned Sammy, Lilo, and Momo. I also have mentioned Sherbert and Garfield. I spotted another cat in April 2023, a black cat. At first, I thought it was a boy, but once I realized it was friendly, and would allow me to give it some affection I discovered it was a girl. I have taken numerous pictures of her, in hopes to be able to find her owner. I named her Pepper. She is very sweet but doesn’t allow me to pick her up. Although she loves to be petted very much. I had reached out to an organization to come and help me catch her, as they would take her, and either find her a new home or find her owner.
They asked me one day without notice if they could come over in 10 mins. It was 6 pm, and it was not a good time, Pepper had been fed already too. I asked if they could come next week, and the lady said she would text me but never did. I am very disappointed, however, I will try to reach out again. I feed all my outside cats daily 2-3 meals a day. I love them like my own including Pepper. Pepper hangs out in the deck area, either in the bushes up against the house where it is cool, or under the deck. So altogether, I fed Sammy, Lilo, Momo, and Pepper regularly. Sammy tends to leave for 2-3 days at a time but returns very hungry.
Pepper is a beautiful black cat. Let me share some photos of her with you all. Isn’t she beautiful?
One day I was looking out the window and noticed who I thought was Pepper, then realized it wasn’t. It was yet another black cat, younger than Pepper, and thinner. Pepper has a bit of a belly. Not sure if she is pregnant or not, or if she had a litter recently. It is hard to catch her, trust me I tried once and failed. I have a crate set up for her in the basement in case I do catch her. I want her to be scanned, to see if she has a micro-chip and maybe has owners that are missing her. She is such a sweet girl and deserves love and to be inside.
Sadly we can’t take her, we have 2 of our own. I think she would do well with other cats. For now, I will continue feeding her as well as the others. Pepper seems to be a healthy-looking cat. She has some scarring on her ear, probably from a fight or two. And noticed what may or may not be scarring over her right top corner eye. I am not sure, I try not to touch it much, as I don’t know if it will hurt her. Other than that she has a healthy appetite.
As for the other black cat. I have seen it a handful of times, doesn’t stick around long though. I have not named him/her yet. I try to use a neutral name. In case it’s one gender or the other. So that is all the excitement with the outside cats. I will Plurk about it if I see the other black cat and maybe try to take a picture. Let me see if I have a photo of that other black cat.
I can tell it isn’t Pepper. Pepper has white hairs coming out of her ears, this cat does not. She also has scarring on her right ear, this one does not. So it is another black cat. The poor furbaby looked hungry. I want to feed it as well. In my heart, I feel I am supposed to do this. Something tells me to help these cats, and that is what I am doing.
I saw Sherbert the other day, I caught a few pictures of him/her in the high brushes in the backyard. I have to share photos of him/her, such a beautiful cat. I wonder if it is someone’s furbaby. Another reason why I want to feed them. This cat is very skittish and runs away if I call out to it through the kitchen window. Hopefully, and eventually, I hope he/she gets less scared and lets me give it some food. The first time I think I spotted Sherbert was in late January 2023. One of the photos is from January 27, 2023.
The first photo is from January 27, 2023, then May 2, 2023, then June 13, 2023, and finally the last two from June 22, 2023. She/he comes around now and then, and I take the opportunity to take pictures, so I can log when I have seen the cats. Such a beautiful cat, looking a little thin, but hopefully, he/she lets me feed her/him.
As for my girls inside. They have seen Pepper through the glass door. They are getting used to seeing her, and sometimes Lily will growl or meow, but not as badly as the first two times. These are my two girls.
This is Daisy my Siamese, and Lily my Tortie, don’t mind the painting on Daisy’s picture, the kitchen was painted, and the living room needs to be finished. Quite a color difference and I like the new paint. So these furbabies keep me very busy. I am constantly running around. I have been waiting for Momo to show up and he hasn’t. I am getting a bit concerned. He didn’t show up for dinner yesterday either. I miss him already. A couple of recent photos of Momo, Lilo, and Sammy.
The first two photos of Sammy (top row) are recent from today. He looks so skinny there, my poor boy needs to come by more often to eat well. The third photo of him is from June 12, 2023, he was losing his winter coat still in that one. To me, he looks skinny in the two first photos, maybe it is a bad angle I am not sure, but, that causes me to be concerned for his well-being. The bottom row is Lilo, and 1st photo is from June 21, 2023, the 2nd photo is from June 23, 2023, and the third photo is from June 24, 2023. I still to this day do not know if Lilo is a boy or a girl. It is so hard to see with his/her long dark hair. They are all beautiful furbabies.
This has been a long blog. There is still more to talk about, but I am tired and I want to close this post. I will blog about the weigh-ins and get caught up on that tomorrow or Wednesday. That is all for now. Donβt forget, With God All Things Are Possible. I hope you all have a wonderful week. Until next time.
Emily
