We are in June, and the weather is nice, at least it is today. Sometimes it rains, but that seems to be a normal thing for my area. Great weather is wonderful, but having a fridge break down isn’t. We were able to save most of the food, but we did lose a few things. I would say we went for almost a week, maybe 5 days using an ice box. We borrowed my sister-in-law’s, and the only thing they forgot to put in it, was the plug, so the water wouldn’t leak out. We managed though, we had to regularly drain the water outside. My husband happened to run into her at the grocery store, so that was a good thing. Her igloo was huge, and it was perfect for us to have what we needed in the kitchen. My husband ordered 2 fridges, one downstairs in the basement, for overflow groceries. We already have a deep freezer, but sometimes that gets maxed, and with the fridge breaking down, we put more into the deep freezer. So he purchased a good-sized fridge to have downstairs in the basement. And then later on the weekend, we went looking at refrigerators at Lowes. We saw one we liked, and we decided on it. About 3 days later they delivered and installed it, and hauled away the old one. So we have 2 fridges and a deep freezer. Now the deep freezer won’t be over-packed, as some will go into the freezer section of the basement fridge. And the kitchen fridge isn’t over-packed either. We buy in bulk and it happens sometimes, so that will allow the fridge to last longer, as over-packing can cause damage. It is all good now. We are both happy with that issue. The first photo is the fridge in the kitchen, and the second picture is the fridge in the basement.
We recently had service done to our boiler, and it is recommended we get it replaced, so that is another expense we are going to see in the future, but it is fine for now. We also are considering installing a mini split in the living room. The bedroom mini splits don’t reach the living room and kitchen. We have put in a window air conditioner, but that is noisy and gets in the way, it blocks the light coming in from that window. And I love having access to that window. So we may put that in again if needed, until we decide what is priority.
Now for a quick little update on my weigh-in, just to keep on track here.
Weigh-in #73 (May 25, 2024)
I weighed in at 217.6 lbs., losing 0.8 lbs. not much, but always better than gaining.
Weigh-in #74 (June 1, 2024)
I weighed in at 217.9 lbs., I gained 0.3 lbs. I don’t know what happened there lol.
Weigh-in #75 (June 8, 2024)
I weighed in at 215.0 lbs., losing 2.9 lbs. Now that is much better.
I have to say, I believe this is the lowest I have gotten throughout my entire journey of losing weight. I am so happy, and I plan on losing more. One day at a time. It has been a struggle, to find just the right things to eat, how much I can handle without overdoing it and gaining. And even when I do that, I find myself sometimes not losing as much as I want, or gaining.
But in the end, I find a balance. My husband is also counting calories along with me. He eats more because he seems to have a faster… I seemed to have lost what word I was looking for. He loses weight at a faster rate than I do. I look at food and I gain weight lol. Not really, but sometimes it feels that way. The next weigh-in is on Saturday. That is the day we choose to do it from now on. So there won’t be any confusion in the future. Anyway, that is all for now. I hope you all are doing well. Have a blessed day. And donβt forget!
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
